James Ujaama, the Seattle activist detained last week in Park Hill as a material witness to a federal terrorism investigation, is now in Virginia, his lawyer said.
Ujaama, 36, has appeared before a federal magistrate there and is expected to receive a new court-appointed lawyer, said Dan Sears, who was appointed to represent him in Denver. Then, Ujaama will testify before a federal grand jury that is investigating terrorism, Sears said.
Authorities are investigating Ujaama's ties to radical London cleric Abu Hamza al-Masri, whose mosque allegedly served as an al-Qaeda training ground. Ujaama is also suspected of delivering laptop computers to the Taliban.

Denver Man Disappeared for Website Content Jul 26 2002
Media's portrayal of "activist" vs "terrorist" fuels debate
Another US citizen (this time from Denver) has been "disappeared" by the new U.S. government, on charges of "aiding terrorism", simply for operating a website, http://stopamerica.org
James Ujaama's website contains dissenting views about U.S. foreign policy. Views which a growing number of Americans are beginning to agree with.
UPDATE: Since this story broke on the morning of July 24th, the RM-IMC has been hit with a flurry of posts on the Ujamma disappearance. Here are the posts, most recent first:

UPDATE on James Ujaama Aug 1 2002
New U.S. Regime remains silent on 'disappeared' man's crime
The new U.S. Government refuses to acknowledge the crimes of James Ujaama, a 36 yr old Denver native, other than to say "he is a potential witness in an ongoing grand jury probe of terrorism."
Colorado has become a testing ground for abuses of the grand jury process in the last few years, by singling out activists and attempting to discredit them or link them to mass conspiracy plots. Those 'theories' in both the Vail Resort fire & Kohls Santa cases, were proven to be without merit, but the disruption and damage, to the area's activist scene, along with the uncovered Spy Files, may be evidence of other intentions.
