We bet that the judge will be Roger "the Hanging Judge of Horseferry Road" Davies - known persecutor of protestors ( whom he labelled "gutless" during a Mayday 2000 hearing, when defendants pleaded not guilty, and wanted time to prepare a defence!) and beggars ( he told a Romanian woman to tell her friends they could expect jail if they appeared before him in the future!).

We also predict that Hanging Judge Davies will attempt to move the trial along along as quickly as possible, so that he is available for his traditional role of coming down heavy on Mayday protestors on May 2nd. Furthermore, we confidently predict that Davies will dispoense with Pre-sentencing reports (he says "what can a report tell me that the solicitor can't tell me now?") and will impose heavy custodial sentences with immediate effect on the afternoon on May 1st, even though the trial is scheduled to last until Friday, and even though defendants are of "previous good character!"

It is an open secret at Horseferry Road Magistrates Court that the Hanging Judge is a stranger to impartiality, and that he sees his role as one of believeing the police and disbelieving those who have the front to protest against a crap world. He also thinks that people born outside of the UK have "no right" to protest (as he famously told a Turkish defendant in a Mayday trial).

This trial is an abuse of the Judicial process. Trying WOMBLES on Mayday for a non-Mayday event, at a time when the press is villifying the group by spreading police lies as gospel truth, throws any pretense of a fair impartial trial out of the window.

However, because the evidence is so weak (after all it was the cops who attacked the group!), the state dare not put this before a judge who has any kind of belief in the rules, for fear that it would be thrown out very quickly.

And to ensure that their prosecution is succesful, they are using Nick Mather, as prosecuting barrister. Nick Mather and Roger Davies have a history of stitching up anti-capitalists from last Mayday. Nick Mather boasts about how much money he made last Mayday.
