A not so senior pig is tonight facing the prospect of being demoted after an almost unprecedented outburst following the acquittal of a Womble Dsei medic under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice and Public Order act 1994.
It was alleged that the first-aider had assualted a pig who subsequently vanished from the face of the earth, never to be seen again. Spooky.
Mark was actually going to the aid of a 64 year old lady who had been attacked by the police at last years anti-anrms trade demo and was in a distressed state.
He was today, quite rightly, found not guilty.
But it was out of court where the real drama took place as DC (er, now PC?) Hussein of West Central CID went rushing over to a group of people who'd been supporting the case shouting that he could arrest them for contempt of court for, er...what?
The group attempted to move-on though the-by-now-sweating- like-a-proverbial copper chased after them, screaming at the Elderly witness "you fucking liar. I hope you can live with your lies"!!!
Not being given the time of day, the stressed-out shithead then started to point at people individually, claiming he'd "get them", before spinning-off down the street.
Apart from the usual fun and games of a day in the courts, the case provides an important precedent for similar cases.
The judge didn't accept the cops' claims that people wearing padding and white suits were there to be violent, and clearly sided with the defense after he'd asked the defendant if he'd been wearing anything to ID him as a medic. He was wearing a hat with a massive red-cross on it.
so, lawsuit on the way then.
