The US is aiding and abetting the terror of Climate Change, not fighting against it.

Demand that the US join the World Coalition against the 'terror' of Climate Change.

MARCH FROM THE EMBASSY of drought-stricken AFGHANISTAN, (assemble Prince Consort Rd.,South Kensington tube) SATURDAY, DECEMBER 8th, 11 a.m. to the US EMBASSY, GROSVENOR SQUARE, for 1 pm.

Show solidarity with the victims of climate change and US policy : the march will go via the embassies of :
Afghanistan (drought, 3 years to 2001)
Ethiopia (drought, 2000)
Bangladesh(cyclone 1997; floods, 1998, 2000)

While the rest of the world signed up to the Kyoto treaty, this July, in order to reduce their climate-destabalising emissions the US (which creates one quarter of world emissions with only 4% of its population ) is set to drastically increase its emissions under Bush's energy policies. What is more Bush's dumping of the Kyoto treaty weakened the hand of those trying to ensure it was a strong and effective treaty so it is now much weaker than it otherwise would have been.
Countries are already suffering from extreme weather events that are likely to represent the effects of global warming. Christian Aid calls them "unnatural disasters" . US obstruction of the Kyoto process will lead to more and worse disasters of this kind - droughts, floods, cyclones, forest fires, - another kind of "terror" which the developing world especially, will suffer from (even though it is the developed world that is responsible for the overwhelming majority of the emissions that have created the problem).

Climate change will kill more people than the current war. It may kill more people than any war.Every year that effective action on climate change is delayed by US obstruction, more lives and livelihoods will be lost. The US has become a 'Climate Terrorist'.
