Pakistan fears US is dividing Afghanistan

"The fall of Mazar-e-Sharif has opened the route leading to Dushanbe for the US. With this very route all supplies will start coming including troops, guns and tanks," he told reporters here.
Beg said that after making huge build up of troops, guns and tanks, the enemy forces would plan advance towards Kabul. "The US and its allies may also then use their ground troops in this advance towards Kabul. In such state of affairs the defence of Taliban will prove fragile and ineffective."
He said the US, after establishing its support base in northern Afghanistan would start planning divisions of Afghanistan.
"The US would try to separate eastern part of Afghanistan and after firming its feet there might give a new shape on the pattern of East Timor at a later date," he said.
