Protests in Ghent, Belgium last week (19th)
Gent 19 October
Last week 7,000 anti-war and anti-capitalist protesters marched peacefully through Ghent while police kept a low public profile.
About 200 Belgian anti-globalization demonstrators hurling firecrackers, eggs and tomatoes tried to attack Berlusconi when he arrived in the nearby town of Kortrijk.
He was whisked into the town hall by a back door as the crowd chanted ``Berlusconi assassin'' in protest at the killing of a protestor by Italian police at last July's G8 summit in Genoa.
