I’m interested in hearing from any willing to play in the northeast, (would like to offer expenses for any band traveling, but ain’t sure how the first gigs will go.
Anyone interested pls. reply to this posting.
Why don’t more people try to organise benefit gigs? They are very useful source of income which can fund coaches, pay fines, purchase art material anything your group or group u are supporting may need.
Throughout the 1980’s these gigs were very popular. Benefits amongst others were held for the striking miners, the animal liberation front, anarchist bust fund, cnd, hunt sabs and many, many local groups and issue’s.
As well as being a source of income, it was a brilliant meeting place and a good medium (pre inter-net days). Information can be swapped and friends made and met. Mix in some good music i.e. conflict, crass, oi polloi, or who ever. Brilliant… Lets fund ourselves, subsidised travel from trade unions or whoever is all very well, but its far better to be able to fund our own movement. D.I.Y NOT E.M.I
