Anyone know of any demo’s going on this Saturday in Newcastle at the Italian consulate?
We must do everything in our power to highlight just exactly what was going on in Genoa.
The tactics employed at the summit were designed to create splits in our factions and to discredit our movement. We can use this to turn the tables back on the creators of this policy.
Ask questions, start debates in the work canteen, in your local boozer, wherever. Write to the local and national press get yourself on Kilroy whatever.. People are not thick and the cracks in this argument over Genoa are far too big and deep to paper over. They have tried to divide us, frighten us and alienate us. Use it. They have pushed it that bit too far, run with it. How were those causing the trouble not at the very least contained? Instead of being able to wander around the city causing destruction, the police going in very hard only after the rioters had moved on, arresting and attacking the non violent protesters who played no part in any confrontation. Surely the police didn’t want this destruction to be filmed and beamed across the world for all to see? ;-) Put it another way. If it were a football match do u think 2000 football hooligans would be able to riot for 2 days without been contained in one area at the very least? Do u think the police would then launch a violent vicious attack on the innocent spectators whom turned up just to go to the match? (Ok so yes they may well attack the innocent as well (but not on the same scale as here and the main rioters would be stopped)). Could it be the police were happy to let things escalate? U may or u may not agree with the tactics of the black block but would they target many of the buildings targeted in Genoa? Why? What did they hope to gain by it? What would be the point in destroying working peoples cars and shops? Who would be alienated by these actions? Ok I know there was a lot of adolescent kids pissed up on xxxx larger strutting around in their anarchist outfits smashing anything or any person they felt like, But surely the police should have contained/arrested them to protect the innocent law abiding citizens attending a totally legal demonstration ;-). They should have done the job they are paid to do (with taxpayer money.). There is still people in hospital and locked up in Italy, Carlo was killed by a young conscript (himself a victim), and yet the propaganda machine is spewing out that it was us who were violent, factions within our (admittedly) diverse movement are jumping into corners and denouncing others, the public will dismiss us as hooligans and cranks unless we can expose the lies about Genoa. By doing so the public will also see the depths that these bastards will goto to protect their wealth. We may not be shocked or even surprised at these depths but that’s why we oppose the bastards, but Joe public thinks everything is fine in the garden. Iraq’s children are dying of curable disease because of our sanctions, trains are crashing, the nhs is being sold off etc,etc and it seems to float over the top of them, but we can use Genoa to show them the lie about us, after all they know us, they work with us, live with us, sell to us , buy from us, they are us. We must get across the lie of Genoa, they tried to break us here lets build from Genoa.
Remember attack is the best form of defence.
Lets take this to every city centre in the uk. increase the pressure.Demand answers and justice over Genoa.
