Here's the resolution passed in Greece-
Resolution Adopted by the GSEE Congress (Athens 15-18 march)
'We participate in the global mobilisation that takes place on 20-22 July in Genoa-Italy, on the occasion of the G8 summit. This is a meeting of the leaders of the 7 richest states (USA, Germany, Japan, France, Britain, Canada, Italy) together with Russia.
They constitute a directorate for all international institutions that run the global system. This year in particular the central issue on the summit agenda is how globalised capital will grab social services, Education, Health, Pensions and also immigrants and democratic rights.
Thousands of working people, youth, students, pensioners, unemployed, immigrants are mobilising around the world against this perspective and are preparing to demonstrate in Genoa against the G8. At their side stand activists from the movements of Seattle, Prague, Nice, Porto Allegre. We will be
there together with them! Because in Greece too the workers movement and youth face the same fights against neoliberal policies.
We call on working people, the Labour Centers, the Trade Union Federations and the local unions to actively support the international mobilisation in Genoa. To organise activities and meetings, to pass resolutions, publish information material and send delegations to the demonstration.
All together, we can fight for a better world where peoples needs and solidarity will be above profits.'
