Nestle Infant Formulae
Nestle makes money selling baby milk powder, but in countries where the water supply is not pure this hugely increases the risk of death from water borne diseases. They make lots of money from Infant Formula, so don't want to stop pushing it on people in developing countries. UNICEF say reversing the decline in breast feeding could save the lives of 1.5 million children every year.
Nestle Lies
Former Nestle Pakistan employee Syed Aamar Raza, "It is said that Nestle does not give gifts to doctors, but we did this. It is said we did not make direct contact with mothers, but we held baby shows in and clinics we used Cerelac samples as a way of striking up conversations to push the milk. The Charter says Nestle does not pay staff by incentives, but my salary revisions signed by Nestle's Marketing Manager included incentives. Infant formula received the most points in the scheme."
Nestle Poison
In the UK Nestle has been fined for polluting the Grand Union Canal in Middlesex, In Derbyshire their factory has breached it's pollution discharge consent 12 times in one year.
Nestle PR
Nestle's last 9 month earnings were $33.2 Billion. Some of this money is used to improve their image. Nestle is involved with At-Bristol to distract attention from the death it is causing. Don't let Nestle turn Bristol into a PR battle ground.
