Interview with Mark Thomas at the Edinburgh anti-repression action, 17th of july

On the 17th of july, an anti-repression action took place at St.Leonards police station in solidarity with Simon, a protester who got arrested and charged with incitement for racial hatred due the modifications of the American flag he was carrying on an anti-war demonstration at the 22nd of march in Edinburgh. Interview with Mark Ballard,MSP, at an anti-war action 17.7.2003, Edinburgh

This interview was taken at the anti-war action yesterday, 17.7.2003 in Edinburgh at St.Leonards police station. Called by Mark Thomas, about 60 protesters came more or less spontaneously to the police station to protest against the criminal proceedings and the charges against Simon.

Mark Thomas called for a solidarity action at the police station in Edinburgh On Thursday, 17th of july a shortly beforehand announced solidarity action took place at St.Leonards police station in Edinburgh.
Mark Thomas and friends have called for a symbolic action to point out the hypocrisy in the repression of anti-war protesters, who have now their court cases coming up.
