Eco-Village of the Future Instead of Third Runway at Heathrow?

Environmentalists and concerned local people resisting the plans for a third runway at Heathrow Airport have begun ongoing discussions with a view to establishing a permanent climate centre in the Sipson, Harmondsworth, and Harlington villages.
Environmental campaigners are attempting to offer grassroots solutions to global warming and climate change which would effectively enable the local residents to transform their local area into a futuristic high tech eco-village.

London Protesters target UK’s largest biofuel supplier, Greenergy

Protestors opposite Greenergy London offices
A colourful banner protest was held outside the office of Greenergy International, the UK’s largest biofuel supplier, on Wednesday, 30th January, between 12.30 and 2.30 pm.
This was part of a National Week of Action on Agrofuels in which different groups and organisations across the UK are organising protests against the deforestation, high food prices, human rights abuses and faster global warming caused by biofuels from large-scale monocultures. Over 40 people were present.

London Critical Mass January ride.

A subdued start to a good ride, held up by a massive traffic jam in the Strand, but it livened up later with a bike high in Piccadilly Circus and taunts to impatient car horns. Joyful chants of 'More bikes less cars' and 'Whose streets? Our streets'.

Protest against E-on, the company behind the Kingsnorth coal fired power station
3pm, outside E-On London offices, 100 Pall Mall, nr Trafalgar Square. Protest organised by Revolution, LSE student Greens, supported by Campaign Against Climate Change and Rising. E-on have recently got planning permission from Medway council for a new coal fired power station at Kingsnorth in Kent and the application is now sitting on Gordon Brown's desk awaiting his approval.
