29-01-2005 23:37 | Anti-militarism | Repression | World

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

On Monday January 24, Israeli police arrested 41 year old Irish American ISM activist, Patrick O’Connor, on suspicion that he was carrying a fake passport. O’Connor was on his way to Jerusalem after planting olive tree seedlings with Palestinian, Israeli and international activists in the path of the Wall in the occupied village of Biddu. For the past year, Israeli and international activists have supported the villagers of Biddu through nonviolent protest and legal appeals in their struggle against the destruction of their farmland for the building of the Wall.

a planetary embrace

21-01-2005 18:37 | Anti-militarism | Globalisation | Zapatista | World

We ourselves, the "weak" are actualy stronger than the "strong". In Washington the celebration of Bush election only have been reached after using so many military ressources that demonstrate that they, the "strong" are really, really affraid; and they will be more and more afraid until they discover that this were not the way.
For us, the "weak", maybe the way begin calling them what they are.

Hebron children arrested for playing football in the street.

09-01-2005 15:28 | Anti-militarism | Anti-racism | Repression | London | World

Internationals witness the arrest of children in Hebron whose heinous crime was for playing football in a deserted street.

Monday 03/01/2005

Myself and three other internationals arrive in Hebron to liaise with local land action groups to fight the land seizures as more illegal settlements are built and the plans for the apartheid wall continue.

Hebron has been a divided city since the implementation of the Hebron accords which sliced it into areas H1 and H2, the population of over 120,000 people is all Palestinian Muslim apart from 500 or so Israeli settlers who are protected around the clock by 1200 Israeli soldiers.

An ISM activist reports from occupied east Jerusalem

08-01-2005 11:22 | Anti-militarism | Repression | London | World

After stupidly missing my morning flight to Tel Aviv on Thursday, I had to get the evening one instead. Arriving Friday morning after a comfortable flight (on which I had been upgraded to business class) I was lucky enough to happen upon another ISMer in the shared taxi to Jerusalem, although this only dawned on the both of us when we both ended up going to the same place where we were meant to make contact with the ISM.

Christmas day in Asira & Taluza 2004

03-01-2005 07:08 | Anti-militarism | Repression | London | World

Christmas day 2004, in the village of Asira south of Nablus, next to a school four internationals are outside a narrow four storey white house which is home to a family of ten. The internationals are there, because the Israeli army has been occupying this home and the neighbouring school since midnight of the 24th of December 2004.

As one of the four internationals outside the house I am concerned for the welfare of the family. We know that the armies have imprisoned the ten members in one room at the top of the house and that the youngest held is a three months old baby. At the point that we approach the house, approximately 1600 hours on the 25th of December, the family has been imprisoned for almost 18 hours with one male soldier standing guard over them at all times.

Rumsfeld's war, torture and occupation ideology!

23-12-2004 03:58 | Anti-militarism | London | World

But the US looking for a peaceful Iraq after they blew the country to bits and killed over a 100,000 innocent, men, women and children is deluded! Especially after going on to torture any resistance there.

These folks have lost everything you terrorists, even their faith in human nature!
