Imperial conquest: America’s “long war” against humanity

30-01-2014 18:18 | Analysis | Anti-militarism | History | World

US military presence per country (2009)
The world is at the crossroads of the most serious crisis in modern history. The US has embarked on a military adventure, “a long war”, which threatens the future of humanity. This “war without borders” is being carried out at the crossroads of the most serious economic crisis in World history, which has been conducive to the impoverishment of large sectors of the World population. The Pentagon’s global military design is one of world conquest. The military deployment of US-NATO forces is occurring in several regions of the world simultaneously.

GCHQ: Failure Acknowledged

29-01-2014 17:33 | Anti-militarism | Repression | Terror War | World

As result of the failure of an assassination attempt against NSA renegade and whistleblower Snowden in which British agencies were involved, Iain Lobban has resigned. The announcement came amidst denial that the resignation had been unprepared, in order to silence the chatter which has long built up within their ranks. It should be noted that while the timing suggests an attempt to escape responsibility for what was leaked, no guarantees have been offered that the agency would not continue to pose a mortal threat against its targets.

NATO. Obituary to a Nukepool

27-01-2014 18:46 | Analysis | Anti-Nuclear | Anti-militarism | World

The North Atlantic Treaty Organisation was a military confederacy during the 60 Years Armistice. Historically, it is part of the fallout of the Hiroshima and Nagasaki attack, which among other things caused the unprepared separation of occupied Korea and the ensuing war on the peninsula. During the armistice period this brought about a new form of international diplomacy that expressed itself in military confederacies. Their formation followed the administrative structure of American imperialism, but of three regional branches positioned around Asia only the European one survived its first years. It turned out to be a mirror of the imperialist hierarchy involving its collaborators at a high profile. In the special case of Germany, it also became a pretext to resurrect an army that had been dissolved with the ultimatum against Japan. With the revocation of the 60 Years Armistice this informal anachronism now has become a formal anachronism. Although in an administrative sense the entity does still exist, it is already displaying its first significant fissures.

Exposing John Pilger & U.K. Stop the War Coalition

26-01-2014 07:41 | Anti-militarism | Repression | Social Struggles | London | World

Parliament Square, London, 15 May 2012

We recently exposed how John Pilger had never accurately reported on our campaign, including that he lied about the fact that our campaign continued.

Nevertheless, John Pilger who is unapologetic about his own lies for the British Establishment of media and government, uses his latest article to continue to position himself as one of...the people.

The tactic of controlled opposition like the media, and including John Pilger, is to invent and use the role of "journalist" to put out selective facts, with the purpose of "informing"...the people, that there is nothing...the people can do about those facts.

UG#675 - What We're Not Being Told (BIS, CFR, TLC, Scientific Truth)

25-01-2014 15:01 | Anti-militarism | History | Social Struggles | Sheffield | World

Audio
We continue our focus on the vast machine, looking this time not at the lies it tells but truths it leaves unspoken. First we hear Ellen Brown suggesting a BIS-Syria connection. Next for the first time on the show we hear professor and historian Anthony Sutton, who has a lot to say about the murky links between US big business and the development both of USSR and of Nazi Germany. We conclude with Chris Busby on scientific dishonesty in the area of radiation risk.

Syria: Who are the real war criminals?

25-01-2014 11:51 | Analysis | Anti-militarism | Other Press | London | World

The Western media, Amnesty International and various other self proclaimed humanitarian organizations are running a war propaganda campaign against Syria following the release of thousands of photographs.

This slur of disinformation focusing on alleged atrocities committed by the Syrian government has coincided in a timely fashion with the Geneva 2 Peace Talks.

Triple Treason in the Caucasus

23-01-2014 16:49 | Analysis | Anti-Nuclear | Anti-militarism | World

If it was not standing behind Europe, such as the Himalaya stands behind India, it would be the highest place of it. But being only a pillar, not a ridge of the entire width of the landmass, it is looking at a much more undefined seam between the subcontinent and the bigger entity it is attached to. Where Europe ends and Asia begins most of the time has been a matter of rivalry of empires, various European ones on one side and Russia on the other, with the entire situation itself being a result of a sort of musical chairs arrangement among them in which the respective ideologies of these empires have been rotating. This constellation has not significantly changed over the recent centuries, and neither have the problems of the two sides, but the role of the Caucasus region in it definitely has.

"Syria's holocaust": The British media totally lose the plot

The Scotsman, 22 January 2014

At no time in history has the perversion of the truth been so extreme. Once the NATO-led genocide on the people of Syria comes to an end, The Guardian and the entire British media establishment must be tried for crimes against humanity.

Geneva II – Washington’s Plan B for regime change in Syria

21-01-2014 18:35 | Anti-militarism | Anti-racism | Other Press | World

The fatal problem with the Geneva II negotiations on Syria, due to open next week in Switzerland, is that the process is furtively being treated by the US and its allies as a lever for regime change. It is their Plan B for regime change, where Plan A is the failed covert military tactic. That does not bode well for a successful, that is sustainable, settlement to a crisis that is nearly three years old with well over 100,000 deaths and nine million people – more than a third of the total population – displaced from their homes. It amounts to an illegal interference in the internal affairs of a sovereign state, and as such is doomed to fail.

Emily Mei Yeh, former Taiwan spy
Emily Yeh worked as an intelligence officer for the Taiwanese government, but became morally uncomfortable with the work she was asked to carry out and fled to the UK. She has been living in Newport, South Wales, where she became a volunteer. Right now, her many friends and supporters are appealing to Malaysia Airways to help keep Emily safe, and not to remove her against her will to an uncertain and dangerous future. If returned she faces an unduly long prison sentence, if not torture or worse.

UG#674 - Sane Methods but Insane Purposes (Angles On The Crescendo Of Violence)

Our title, the self-diagnosis of the Captain Ahab, applies just as fittingly to the US led corporatocracy says Chris Hedges in his allegorical reading of Melville's Moby Dick. A variety of material, including an unread chapter of Charles Eisenstein's Ascent of Humanity and an interview with gift economy pioneers Vic Button and Frank Bowman point the way to a more optimistic end for humanity than that of the Ahab's doomed whaling voyage.

Martin Luther King’s historic plea to break the silence on militarism

15-01-2014 07:02 | Analysis | Anti-militarism | Social Struggles | World

“A nation that continues year after year to spend more money on military defense than on programs of social uplift is approaching spiritual death.” — Martin Luther King, in his famous speech at the Riverside Church in New York City on April 4, 1967

King’s Riverside Church speech was titled “Beyond Vietnam: A Time to Break Silence.” It was delivered exactly one year before his April, 4, 1968 assassination in Memphis.

The people who heard that speech recognized it as one of the most powerful speeches ever given articulating the immorality of the Vietnam War and its destructive impact on social progress in the United States.

The Syrian sarin question – Human Rights Watch refuses to answer

13-01-2014 16:14 | Analysis | Anti-militarism | Other Press | World

Recent new elements concerning the attack with the nerve agent sarin on the 21st of August in Syria point to the fact that, in contrast to earlier claims put forward by among others Human Rights Watch and the New York Times, there is not one shred of proof the Syrian army was involved.

On the 28th of December 2013 the New York Times to a certain degree withdrew its previous claims although it blamed the US government and not itself for the lies produced then back in September 2013. However Human Rights Watch still didn’t react to these developments and so continues to stick to its old now discredited lies.

Behind NATO's propaganda outlet for progressives - the Guardian's board members

11-01-2014 12:52 | Analysis | Anti-militarism | Other Press | London | World

The Guardian, 10 June 2013
It is completely disingenuous for anyone to suggest that the Guardian reports on Edward Snowden's revelations are much more than a carefully managed propaganda exercise deployed in the internal power struggle of the US-Anglo elite about how best to manage their declining global power and influence.

Likewise, it is absurd to suggest that the Guardian editors are implementing a "publish and be damned" policy, as Guardian writer Glenn Greenwald has suggested, when it is inconceivable that their editorial policy on publishing Edward Snowden's material will not have been closely coordinated on the basis of the Board's relations with colleagues in the British government, in British intelligence and in the US-Anglo corporate sector.

War: "Academic" propaganda ... is a crime

10-01-2014 10:33 | Anti-militarism | Education | Other Press | Oxford | World

A war criminal: Professor Sir Hew Strachan
If media or academia really published a balanced "opinion" over war, they would always have to include, a genuine consideration of...law.

A particularly wretched self-serving Oxford "academic" called Professor Sir Hew Strachan, has been wheeled out by the British Establishment to front the link between World War One, and current British military..."thinking", which is...propaganda.

In the year 2014, the deliberate and cynical use, by academics, of ...propaganda, that leads to murder, must be legally challenged.
