Actions in London and Cardiff. / Gweithredoedd yn Llundain a Chaerdydd.

Cymraeg isod:

On the morning of Friday, July 25th, supporters of Stop NATO Cymru took action in London and Cardiff, locking themselves to the front doors of missile developer MBDA, occupying the HQ of arms company Airbus Group and closing the Armed Forces Careers Centre in Cardiff by occupying the roof. This was part of an ongoing anti-militarist campaign in the run up to September’s NATO Summit in Newport, targeting all institutions which perpetuate violence on a global scale.

MBDA is jointly owned by arms companies Airbus Group (37.5%), BAE Systems (37.5%) and Finmecanica (25%), companies guilty of providing arms used by Israel to bombard communities, demolish hospitals and murder innocent children in schools. Palestinian solidarity activists stood with us against these monsters, with Israel having used British bombs on playing children, family homes, schools, independent journalists, rescue vehicles and hospitals in the last week alone.

In solidarity with Stop NATO Cymru, anti-miltarist activists from Stop the Arms Fair entered the lobby and picketed the entrance to the London HQ of Airbus Group (aka EADS). Airbus Group is a major profiteer of war. They manufacture jets, drones (including some with nuclear warheads) and surveillance technology. They are the second largest arms producer in Europe, with investments in authoritarian regimes such as Saudi Arabia, UAE and Kazakhstan. Airbus has recently announced new contracts worth £50mil, and have urged the arms industry to take ‘full economic advantage’ of the NATO Summit. The summit is an opportunity for them to showcase their killing machines and blood-stained business through NATO procurement. Stop NATO Cymru opposes the NATO war machine, arms production and the murder of anyone for corporate profit.

Earlier this month the British Army launched a recruitment drive entitled ‘More Than Meets the Eye’, aiming to dispel myths surrounding life in the forces, boost their falling recruitment figures and secure the flow of “a new stream of young blood” as head of recruiting, Major General Chris Tickell, so aptly put it.

They are right about one thing, there is more to life in the army than meets our eyes – more to what the media, charities and the state show of the idealised soldier. Waves of forced redundancies are leaving thousands unemployed, many of them young people, promised adventure and reward at the recruiting office before being spat into the jobcentre, often injured, with thousands wounded over the last decade.

Even those who keep their job are constantly exploited y the state. The fact is that every individual within the armed forces – from the musician to the infantryman – is part of an effort to further the state’s expansionist agenda. In Afghanistan, war for oil saw the deaths of almost 4,000 coalition troops and an estimated 20,000 Afghan civilians killed to bring NATO’s version of democracy to the Afghan people. Now we see conflict flaring in Ukraine, with British companies having armed the Russian dictatorship, America throwing its weight behind a neo-Nazi backed government and the people of Ukraine and the world suffering the consequences.

We took action to show that we will not stand by and watch ordinary people suffer in the wars of the wealthy. We are anti-militarist, opposed to states, their armies and the world that creates them. When NATO brings its circus to Newport in September, we will make our feelings known.

Ar fore Gwener, Gorffennaf y 25ain, wnaeth cefnogwyr Stop NATO Cymru gweithredu yn uniongyrchol yn Llundain ac yng Nghaerdydd, gan gloi eu hun i ddrysau’r gwneuthurwr taflegrau MBDA, meddiannu pencadlys y cwmni arfau Airbus Group a chau’r Canolfan Gyrfaoedd Milwrol yng Nghaerdydd trwy feddiannu’r to. Roedd hyn yn rhan o ymgyrch o dargedu sefydliadau sy’n cynnal trais a graddfa fyd-eang, yn arwain at Gynhadledd NATO yng Nghasnewydd mis Medi yma.

Mae MBDA yn berchen i gwmnïau afau Airbus Group (37.5%), BAE Systems (37.5%) a Finmecanica (25%), cwmnïau sydd yn euog o ddarparu arfau a ddefnyddir gan Israel i beledu cymunedau, dymchwel ysbytai a llofruddio plant diniwed mewn ysgolion. Wnaeth ymgyrchwyr dros undod gyda Phalestina sefyll gyda ni yn erbyn yr angenfilod yma yn sgil Israel yn defnyddio bomiau Prydeinig ar blant, cartrefi i deuluoedd, ysgolion, newyddiadurwyr annibynnol, cerbydau argyfwng ac ysbytai yn ystod yr wythnos diwethaf yn unig.

Mewn undod gyda Stop NATO Cymru, wnaeth ymgyrchwyr gwrth-filitaraidd o Stop the Arms Fair mynd i mewn i’r lobi a phicedu mynedfa Pencadlys Airbus Group (aka EADS) yn Llundain.Mae Airbus Group yn gwneud elw enfawr o ryfel. Maent yn gweithgynhyrchu jetiau, awyrennau di-beilot (gan gynnwys rhai gyda arfbennau niwclear) a thechnoleg gwyliadwriaeth. Nhw yw cynhyrchydd arfau ail fwyaf yn Ewrop, gyda buddsoddiadau mewn cyfundrefnau totalitaraidd megis Saudi Arabia, yr Emiradau Arabaidd Unedig a Kazakstan. Mae Airbus wedi cyhoeddi contractau newydd gwerth £ 50mil yn ddiweddar, ac wedi annog y diwydiant arfau i gymryd ‘mantais economaidd llawn’ yr Uwchgynhadledd NATO. Mae’r Gynhadledd yn gyfle iddynt arddangos eu peiriannau rhyfel a’u busnes gwaedlyd drwy weithio gyda NATO.Stop NATO Cymru yn gwrthwynebu’r peiriant rhyfel NATO, cynhyrchu arfau ac unrhyw lofruddiaeth am elw corfforaethol.

Yn gynharach yn y mis, lansiodd y Fyddin Brydeinig ymgyrch recriwtio o’r enw ‘More Than Meets the Eye’, gyda’r nod o chwalu’r delweddau ynghylch bywyd yn y lluoedd, rhoi hwb i’w ffigurau recriwtio a sicrhau “llif newydd o waed ifanc” fel dywedodd pennaeth recriwtio, Uwchfrigadydd Chris Tickell.
Maent yn gywir am un peth, mae mwy i fywyd yn y fyddin nag yr ydym yn gweld – mwy na’r hyn mae’r cyfryngau, elusennau a’r wladwriaeth yn dangos o’r milwr delfrydol. Mae nifer enfawr o ddiswyddiadau gorfodol yn gadael miloedd yn ddi-waith, llawer ohonynt yn bobl ifanc, wedi eu denu gan yr antur a addawyd yn y ganolfan recriwtio cyn cael eu poeri i mewn i’r ganolfan waith, yn aml wedi eu hanafu, gyda miloedd wedi anafu yn ystod y degawd diwethaf yn unig.
Mae hyd yn oed y rhai sy’n cadw eu swyddi yn cael eu hecsbolitio yn gyson gan y wladwriaeth. Y ffaith yw bod pob unigolyn o fewn y lluoedd arfog – o’r cerddor i’r milwr – yn rhan o ymdrech i hyrwyddo agenda ymledol y wladwriaeth.Yn Affghanistan, wnaeth rhyfel dros olew arwain at farwolaethau bron 4,000 filwyr clymbleidiol a llofrudd tua 20,000 o sifiliaid Affghan er mwyn dod â fersiwn NATO o ddemocratiaeth i bobl y wlad.
Nawr rydym yn gweld gwrthdaro yn ymddangos yn y Wcráin, gyda chwmnïau Prydeinig wedi arfogi unbennaeth Rwsia, America yn taflu ei bwysau y tu ôl i lywodraeth a gefnogir gan neo-Natsïaid a phobl Wcráin a’r byd yn dioddef y canlyniadau.
Rydym yn gweithredu er mwyn ddangos na fyddwn yn sefyll o’r neilltu a gwylio pobl gyffredin yn dioddef yn y rhyfeloedd y cyfoethog. Gwrth-filitarwyr ydym ni, yn sefyll yn erbyn gwladwriaethau, eu byddinoedd a’r byd sy’n eu creu. Pan fydd NATO yn dod â’i syrcas i Gasnewydd ym mis Medi, rydym yn bwriadu gwneud ein teimladau yn amlwg.
NATO yw’r anghenfil militaraidd sy’n annog gwariant milwrol mewn cyfnod o lymder economaidd, sy’n annog gwrthdaro mewn mannau fel y Wcráin ac sy’n cynrychioli adain arfog cyfalafiaeth ddinistriol. Er gwaethaf y pŵer sydd tu ôl i NATO – a holl sefydliadau militaraidd mewn byd o lywodraeth drwy drais – byddwn yn parhau gydag ein brwydr ar y strydoedd, yn gwneud popeth o fewn ein gallu i sicrhau newid, hyd nes bod pob gwn yn oer, pob bom yn dawel a phob cawell yn wag.

Great action guys. It's time to start increasing direct actions. Marching is ok but it is simply not getting the press attention needed. This may not get the press attention it deserves but at least it acts as an inconvenience and possibly costs them money which is something they definitely don't like. Anyway just wanted to say good effort. Solidarity.
