In order to build the biggest possible opposition there will be an organising meeting to bring together all the various people who oppose the summit for many many reasons. As well as concerned local residents, and activists from around the region there will be large number of people who will be travelling from further afield especially to attend this meeting.
Agenda
1. Planning for the suggested five major activities:
• Large demonstration march on the Celtic Manor on opening day
• A peace camp
• Direct action
• 7 day march to Newport – possibly in relay from various points
• Alternative/counter summit on 30th & 31st August
2. Progress on mobilisation statement.
3. Funding
4. Co-ordinating committees – geographic and activity based
5. A possible Europe-wide mobilisation meeting in June
6. Publicity
7. Letter to ask people to sign demonstrating broad opposition

Mask up (even in the meeting) and use only first names.

"build the biggest possible opposition"

There probably will be cops there, but hiding your identity from them and successfully organise anything large is very unlikely, mask or not.
@NoNATOnewport
Cops here already I see !

"No need to mask up". Why would anybody encourage another individual not to hide their identitiy ? Because of course they have an interest in being able to film and record them, this data is then cross referenced to other demos, protests and groups adding to the State database of activists. The moment an individual tells you there is no need to mask up with whatever excuse (ordering coffee !!!!) be suspisicious and avoid them.
Other tips
Work only with those known to you whose background has been verified, Mark Kennedy was able to become involved because people just took him at his word, a few basic background checks would have unmasked him much earlier.
Avoid electronic communication, assume any email, text message or facebook post is monitored. Work face to face and have meetings in the open air where possible.
Be wary of new people keen to become heavily involved very quickly. Give them a few low focus jobs first to let them prove their bona fides.
Final thing - don't forget the police now have the right to use Schedule 7 terror laws to interrogate people and they do !

Stage One - suggest that what is being suggested is not required
Stage Two - suggest that those who are still encouraging the 'unnaceptable' behaviour is "mad"
In many ways this is good as it shows they are taking the protest seriously and are prepared to devote resources to try and stop it.
Keep it up everyone !
