WEST LONDON, 2pm. SAT 1st MAY! WATCH THIS SPACE!
Urgent call forwarded from www.stopthebnp.com
The British National Party is holding a combined political rally and social event in west London starting at 3pm on Saturday 1 May. This will be one of the fascists’ largest indoor rallies in the run-up to the European, London and council elections on 10 June.
BNP members from across the region will receive an election and political briefing. They will also be addressed by a series of speakers including candidates in the European, London Mayoral and London Assembly elections.
In the evening, after a buffet meal, they will be entertained by nazi bands and a stand-up comedienne.
We have been asking London anti-fascists and the trade union movement for some weeks to keep this date free for an anti-fascist activity to keep up the pressure that has been put on the BNP across the country. We intend to bring the truth about the criminals and nazis of the BNP to the widest possible public attention.
In the two days before the council by-election in South Ruislip on 29 April, where the BNP is standing, anti-fascists delivered 5,000 Searchlight Election Special newspapers. Despite BNP attempts at physical intimidation and the terrible weather, the response was good and the job was done.
Last weekend 40,000 papers were distributed in Bradford.
In Wickford, Essex, we outnumbered attendees at the BNP’s hate festival and later distributed 20,000 newspapers across mid and southeast Essex.
The terrific turnout in Manchester, where hundreds of anti-fascists confronted the French nazi leader Jean-Marie Le Pen, who came to help the BNP launch its election campaign, was a heartening occasion for us all.
These and similar activities have been winning hearts and minds across the land and persuading much of the media to speak out against the BNP.
We intend to gather in west London at 2pm sharp on 1 May. Watch this site or phone 07775 568426 for precise directions.
Spread the word, bring your friends, bring your trade union banners and your own material.
Let’s show the BNP that May Day is not theirs to pollute.
29 April 2004.
