Czech president signs Lisbon Treaty/ResultofEU dirty deal regarding human rights

With the EU guarantee to the Czech president, that the Czech State should not be exposed to property claims of expelled Germans after World War II, the EU not only implicitly consents with ethnical cleansings, it is also highly hypocritical, since the EU regularly points a finger to human rights violating countries like Sudan, Myanmar and Iran
It is high time the EU should look in its own mirror, among else with regard to police abuse, racism and violation of the rights of migrants and real or alleged terrorsuspects Read more >>

Climate Change & Multinationals - A View from Colombia - Speaker Tour 10-15 Nov

World leaders and activists are preparing to descend on Copenhagen to discuss climate change, but have we fully understood its structural causes? Palestinian Child Prisoners - UK Meetings

A national tour to highlight the systematic and institutionalised ill-treatment and torture of Palestinian children by the Israeli authorities, organised by Action for Palestinian Children and supported by Palestine Solidarity Campaign

Mohammad Abu Eid, from the occupied West Bank, was 14 years old when he was detained by the Israeli forces in February 2008 and accused of throwing stones at the Wall. Mohammad was beaten, interrogated in the absence of a lawyer and family member, deceived into signing a confession, prosecuted in a military court and sentenced to four months imprisonment inside Israel. Whilst in prison, he received no education and no family visits.

Mohammad, in the company of his mother, Somaya, will share their experiences with the audience to foster a better understanding of the situation facing Palestinian children.

Lies of Merseyside BNP shatter at anti-fascist trial

On April 23rd, Peter Tierney and Steve Greenhalgh of the Merseyside BNP were among the thugs who attacked antifascist leafleters in Liverpool City Centre. Despite their claims of self-defence, assault charges against their chosen anti-fascist fall guy were dropped months ago as utterly untenable. Today, at the antifascist's trial, even the flimst criminal damage charges would not stick. Read more >>

More than ever, the oil must be ours

Requião
Just like in the beginning. With the same passion and the same radicality of campaign "The oil is ours". If, in the 1950's, when our daily production was 2,300 barrels, the whole country has mobilized in favor of retaining the oil wealth to Brazilians, what to say about today, when, in only four fields, it is estimated that the reserves of pre-salt layer will produce 16 billion barrels?
