The Government’s agricultural research body is pressing ahead with plans to build the second £100m phase of the new animal research facility at Pirbright in Surrey.



The Institue for Animal Health has started search to sign up the professional construction team ahead of appointing a contractor for the job.

New research facilities are being built to carry out research on animal viruses and need to be built to a very high level of biological containment.

The multi-disciplinary design team will consist of a lead consultant and include an architect, civil and structural engineer, and mechanical and electrical building services engineers.

Presently, Shepherd Construction is building the £100m phase one main livestock laboratories, which are due to become operational in early 2014.

The second of three planned phases was allocated a further £100m of funding by the Government last year despite across the board spending cutbacks.

It is estimated the new lab will cost £70m to build, and will concentrate on avian viruses, particularly those that pose a threat to humans.

Construction is due to start next summer.

But before you "stop" it, you must sign a pledge NEVER to use any drugs which may have been tested on animals at any time. No exceptions, no excuses. Not even if your little daughter has otherwise terminal cancer. Otherwise, you're full of shit.

If you really can't figure it out yourself (I find this very hard to believe)......
No. It would be illegal and there's nothing in it for me, they can use animals instead.

If you want to volunteer, feel free but I doubt they will allow you.

okay - done. not that i've taken any pharmaceutical 'medicines' for years. the natural 'alternatives' (though much older) are safer, cheaper and more effective. ultimately of course a good nutritious diet will prevent all ills -- no need for animals to suffer for drugs that only suppress symptoms!

Non human animals give completely different results to humans when experimented on-leading to misleading results. So volunteering yourself to human experimentation makes a lot of sense - would you do it? Many people do it for money you know and many people are forced to do it-poor people in poor countries. Perhaps if we didn't eat shit, breathe shit, get cocktails of shit vaccines etc etc we wouldn't need these fabled remedies that do not exist.

This will only stop when abusers wake from their living nightmares. Arguably, abusers are held captive by delusions propagated widely by groups granted power by belief in the legitimacy of controlled money.

Weak minds protecting their own frail temporary bodies, often still slurping at gobbits of days old flesh and offal, insisting there is no alternative.

Such abusers begin ignorant, but gain culpability with each refusal of adequate harmless alternatives.

When do these people harden their minds from reason, and demand sacrifice to themselves, and demand the compliance of money users under threat of destitution?

1) human and animals are different.... to a point. There are many similaries too, so your statement of it giving misleading results is false. It all depends what the test is.

2) would i volunteer? No. I can't see a compelling reason why i should. Yes, people in other countries do it, and poor people do it for money. I get money by working so don't need to do it.

Or... perhaps not. I guess we could choose to go back to olden times where people just died of diseases and illnesses that could be cured with these "fabled remedies". But that would be a bit odd to say the least. Yes, lets all not take antibotics and see how long we last with a serious infection. You sound a did like a luddite of the medical world.

The local ethnic minorities? confronted us said they wanted jobs when it was built it was an intimidating atmosphere lar said we dont want to upset the ethnic minorities demos didnt take place after.
