The Real Transition Handbook

Countryside Anarchist | 31.03.2012 19:38 | Ecology | Education | Energy Crisis

The Real Transition Handbook offers an more realistic guide to coping with transition.

Alas, it seems to me there will be no smooth transition to a brave new world. We have gone way too far down the slope of self destruction and are pressing full steam ahead.

Instead it seems likely there will be a traumatic collapse sometime between now and 2020 (judging by the International Energy Agency forecasts) followed by a period of chaos of unknown duration before something new emerges from the ashes. If you are not aware of this, perhaps take the time to acquaint yourself. (Dmitry Orlov is a good place to start)

With this in mind I have written what I consider to be a more realistic Transition Handbook. There's a lot more I'd like to put in it, and I will be expanding it over time, but for now I have focused on the main priority: food.

It is available for free at:  http://www.countryside-anarchist.co.uk/Writings/realtransition.html

Hope its of use.
