Not so good in Hyde

Paul | 25.02.2012 16:48

Bad time for one group of anti fascists in Hyde.

Had a phone call from my anti fascist mate in Hyde.
Him and a group of around 20 anti fascists stayed away from the main EDL/BNP demo, so as not to be kettled by the police and to show some fascists the true meaning of militant anti fascism.

This group was confronted by about 80 Asian youth.
Despite trying to tell the Asian youth they were anti fascists, the Asian youth attacked the anti fascists.
Forcing them to retreat, with some of them being forced to jump over the barrier onto the A57M, which is no small drop.

The police quickly turned up and the Asian youth ran off.
The police were brutal in their treatment of anti fascists, even threatening some of them with arrest for going on the motorway!

They were forced up a side street, only to meet a larger group of fascists, forcing them to run back to the not so gentle police.
The anti fascists were pushed in the direction of Manchester centre, four or five miles away for their own safety the police claimed.
What a fuck up!
