Jeremy Clarkson insults Asians

Not content with broadcasting Anders Breivik style calls for the shooting of public sector workers and saying the remains of suicide victims should be eaten by wild animals, BBC presenter Jeremy Clarkson has been accused of racism after insulting Indian people in a Top Gear Xmas show, just two days after Indian student Anuj Bidve was shot dead in Salford.
Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond painted huge banners and hung them from the side of Indian trains, which, ostensibly promoting British I.T. and food products, read "BRITISH IT FOR YOUR COMPANY" and "EAT ENGLISH MUFFINS". When the train split into 2 sections on leaving Jaipur railway station, each banner tore into 2 halves, leaving one half that read just ""BRITI" with the other half read "SHIT FOR YOUR COMPANY", and another half that read "INS" while the rest read "EAT ENGLISH MUFF". If BNP leader Nick Griffin travelled to India to display banners reading "Shit on India" and "Suck English Cunt" it would be no different. The Top Gear crew illustrated arriving in Jaipur - a town "famous for its natural springs", by showing scenes of locals urinating, and in another scene Jeremy Clarkson stripped off in front of two Indians - all incredibly clever and funny, except for not being clever or funny, and being pathetic. Jeremy Clarkson even chose to mock the desperate living conditions of India's poor, driving around working-class neighbourhoods in a Jaguar fitted with a toilet mounted on his car boot. The programme was shown by BBC2 TV at 8pm on Weds 28 Dec, just two days after Asian student Anuj Bidve was shot dead at point-blank range in Salford.
The BBC have yet to find the courage to say how many MORE members of the public complained since the 31,000 objections they'd received by 5 Dec 2011 - an entire month ago, alongside the 800 plus complaints lodged with Ofcom. Please increase the pressure by lodging fresh complaints with Ofcom and with the BBC about Jeremy Clarkson's racism (and judging by Top Gear employees' constant trolling of earlier IMC threads, public complaints have seriously rattled them, even if the likes of BBC boss Mark Thompson and Top Gear producer Andy Wilman themselves don't actually give a fuck)...

the real facts

No one actually believes that Clarkson really wanted to shoot public sector workers. The majority of people believe it was a joke.
"Jeremy Clarkson has been accused of racism after insulting Indian people in a Top Gear Xmas show, just two days after Indian student Anuj Bidve was shot dead in Salford."
1. Accused by who?
2. Just two days after?! Im sure that on all 365 days of the year you'd find some coincidence and use it as an excuse.
"Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond painted huge banners and hung them from the side of Indian trains, which, ostensibly promoting British I.T. and food products, read "BRITISH IT FOR YOUR COMPANY" and "EAT ENGLISH MUFFINS".
No it didn't!! Its in the photo and you've deliberately missed the top part of the sign off.
It says "The united kingom promotes shit for your company."
I thought it was very funny and so did plenty of other people.
"If BNP leader Nick Griffin travelled to India to display banners reading "Shit on India" and "Suck English Cunt" it would be no different.
It would be COMPLETELY different. Because it is a different person and a completely different sign. You might as well say it is no different to you posting on indymedia complaints about jeremy clarkson.
"The Top Gear crew illustrated arriving in Jaipur - a town "famous for its natural springs", by showing scenes of locals urinating, and in another scene Jeremy Clarkson stripped off in front of two Indians - all incredibly clever and funny, except for not being clever or funny, and being pathetic."
I think you are probably watching the wrong program then. Perhaps you should watch something like Jasper Carrot or Midsumer murders?
"Jeremy Clarkson even chose to mock the desperate living conditions of India's poor, driving around working-class neighbourhoods in a Jaguar fitted with a toilet mounted on his car boot."
Not sure how that mocks the indians poor.
"The programme was shown by BBC2 TV at 8pm on Weds 28 Dec, just two days after Asian student Anuj Bidve was shot dead at point-blank range in Salford. "
It would be two days after something that upsets you no matter what day they broadcast it - because you are determined to be offended by it and will find any reasons.

Quite simply - no. If im going to complain against anyone it is you.
If you dont like it - watch something else, because a lot of people do like it. A few spoil sports are therefore not going to have an effect.

In contrast a quick Google check reveals the BBC received 314 messages in support of Jeremy Clarkson
Either way, the fact that Nick Griffin also tells jokes doesn't mean Griffin's not a racist

Silly curly haired talentless cunt Jeremy fucking Clarkson says someting offensive to help with his book sales...because his PR company fuckwit-fiona told him too.
Says something deeply offensive in the run up to the Christmas shopping rush just in time to sell his shitty meritless book and then does exactly the same again just before new years eve to help sell the same fucking book for the New Years eve rush.
Can you see a pattern here or are you really really that fucking stupid?
P.S Don't answer that last question...we already know the answer!
When jeremy Clarkson dies horrifically in a head on car crash with a 8 feet deep brick wall then you can post an article about it. Till then.....FUCK OFF AND STOP POSTING THIS SHIT HERE.

02.01.2012 17:07
There isn't 31,000 complaints, there was 8. And there were 21,000 about the one show which is something completely different. And who the fuck writes in to not complain about something!?
And clark kent is wrong. THe article text says something different to what it says in the photo
The photo tells the truth, the text distorts the truth and is a lie.

@ 31,000+ complained to the BBC and 800+ complained to Ofcom
Against about 60,000,000 people who DID NOT complain to the BBC.

02.01.2012 19:35
This article isn't about casual racism. Its about how BBC employees can use racism casually for product promotion...and how reactionaries such as yourself can fling themselves about on the internet getting incensed about comments that are designed to sell product.
Happens all the time at the BBC. They spend their entire lives stoking controversy in order to control the reactions that come back from the public. Its called 'real-time polling' and government couldn't function in this country without it. Hasn't it ever struck you as odd that whenever something odd or bad happens...the BBC want your opinions straight away. Thats because Downing Street need an immediate poll to build a statement with. Which they release not long after.
You see, its a media governed world we live in. Your TV is a tyrant and a snitch that works for the government...and only for the government.
Kinda surpised you couldn't figure that one out yerself actually...being an anarchist n' all!
Jeremy Clarkson isn't a racist. He isn't anything. He's just making filthy-lucre and he can afford not to beleive in anything.
He can afford to make jokes about truck drivers and murdered prostitutes, public service workers being executed, Indians and so on. He can afford to be a clown.
He is a Capitalist clown. You don't need to help him by playing the dumb middle class 'appalled of suburbia' idiot.
"Tiff" Needell.

02.01.2012 19:56
No, its not just childish wit.
The thing is its only funny (I suppose) if you have no experience of what the joke is about. These kind of jokes aren't funny for people in the real world. They are just tragic.
Jokes about the Iraqi and Afghani wars, economic strife and murder and so on might be funny for TV personalities but they just aint funny for those who have been touched by these tragedies. The only people who can make jokes about these subjects with any skill are professional comedians and even they tread a fine line. Clarkson is no comedian. He is a motoring journalist and a pretty bad one at that.
Thats the thing about these programs and personalities, childish wit is actually just juvenile ignorance which for some is itself entertainment...bugger knows why, must be bad parenting or massive drug abuse as children.
The BBC just look like belligerent idiots for allowing these people to remain in employment.
But I agree with the other posters. The best way is not to engage. In the entertainment industry they have a saying...
"Love us or hate us...just please don't ignore us".
Ignore them wholesale, that'll sort these idiots out.
Winter.

Never thought I'd find myself defending Jeremy Clarkson but...
...your attempt to drum up outrage about this stunt, and suggest it is racist, is laughable.
Look at the photo you posted. After being hit by the train it clearly states "The United Kingdom promotes.. sh i.t for your company". That's the sentence - without the UK bit, it's not a sentence. It's obviously mocking the UK, and you really have to go wildly out of your way to suggest it's saying "shit on India". Seriously - this is the wrong Clarkson action to get upset about.

The reactions of those claiming some pervasive racism on the part of Clarkson are completely over the top and are ... er ...reactionary. They do more damage to the cause of fighting racism than anything else. Hysterical, but not funny.
The reactions of the mods here is rather more worrying than the story itself. Do we really need protecting[sic] from a few badly phrased comments? Are the mods within their rights to deny us the full spectrum of ideas and viewpoints, to prevent full exchange and meaningful debate?
I say no. Further, I request that the mods make an account of themselves for a change and not hide behind either anonymity or broad and vague editorial guidelines.

the mods are out of order, their censors pen too busy and their gate-keeping on par with the over zealous, it is not enough just to repeat the same mantra of rules when the issue at hand produces more blanked space than it does interaction.
indymedia used to be vibrant and its potential used to be exciting ... now it begins to resemble more the stricture of the mainstream 'control' of issues and the neurotic response to being questioned on contentious issues that belong more to those with something to hide than it does to truly open publishing.

it is precisely the impossibility of engaging in debate about zionism, the war on terra and the reality of our situation as targets for false flag politics that turn people away from sites like these
as much as they desire too and make the occasional attempt too, those who would like to comment freely and engage on those subjects do not bother with this site any more than they do over at sites of the mainstream media that promise 'comment is free' etc yet, like indymedia, ensure that comments are hidden, moderated or otherwise censored
this is my 'occasional attempt', and now, having yet again proved to myself that meaningful exchange is impossible here, will return to those sites more conducive to such

Indymedia uk is a newswire - not a bulletin board. It doesn't work as a bulletin board, because anonymous posting is open to abuse including the plethora of sock-puppets used by 'ex-IMCster', who started trolling the thread to death within 20 minutes of it being posted. If you're looking for debate then you need a different site.
If you're looking for accountability and discussion about how the boards are modded then you are banging your head against a brick wall by posting it to the wire. It isn't news and it WILL get hidden.
If you want to discuss how debate can be better managed, then you have the option of discussing it on the list, which is read by all the admins - most commemts are not.
As much as you want free speech, the feedback we continually receive is that people are put off posting news items, because of the trolling and abuse that goes on. In lieu of that moderation has to be kept tight. Other uk IMCs now have the option of comment free threads - personally I think that is a step too far.
Nowhere, ever has Indymedia uk claimed to be a free speech site.
I can still see no reason whatsoever for revealing my identity to someone who hides behind anonymity themselves.

I believe that everyone is entitled to their own opinions without others having a go at them about it.If I or other people have 'too much time on their hands' then that is our own affair and privilege. Theres 31,000+ people who bothered to complain, are you suggesting their opinion doesn't count? Or is of lesser importance that yours? 10.01.2012 00:57
"The BBC presenter Jeremy Clarkson, who has made a good living out of being forthright to the point of boorishness, today admits broadcasting racist comments on his chat show and holding prejudiced views about foreigners. He makes the admission on Channel 4's Right to Reply, after being asked whether comments on his Clarkson programme are racist. He says "Yes ... I don't see there is anything necessarily wrong with prejudice. I am hugely prejudiced about everything. Prejudice is what makes the world go round." He goes on to justify his stupidity by saying "If we all thought the same and did the same and we were not allowed to express an opinion, we would live in a terribly boring place" - statement which is at best stupidly obvious, and equally obviously ignores all the people who manage to not be boring without being racist pricks. The article says Jeremy Clarkson's producer is Elaine Bedell -
