ridiculous

It's ridiculous that this wedding is being payed by the taxpayer, rather the royal themselves. £48 million as well. They have enough money for pay for it atleast.

While we are given a 'notable' day off for this 'romantic' day, industry will have to pay for the day off, and it is us, the ordinary people paying for this wedding.

While one could say, prince and kate getting married, well done for that, but making us pay for this wedding and the additional costs affected a 'day' off is not the best of choices. What do you think we are? idiots?. Especially with the current austerity measures and economic times in this Country.

When you actually do the maths, it isnt that much...

£48million is a drop in the ocean when considered on the scale of the country.
Split over 60 million population, it is barely over the price of a kitkat bar.

Stop being Mr. Scrooge - I'm sure you can afford a one off payment of 80p in your lifetime!
I realise count the pennies and the pounds will look after themselves etc, but really, there are more important things to worry about.

The wedding will be a good day for the economy, so I'm sure that easily counteracts the bill.
Many employers don't legally have to give people the day off... in depends what is in the persons contract or how nice they are feeling.

I'd also point out, that many people on benefits are happy to spend £5+ on a packet of cigarettes or alcohol or illegal drugs (all paid for by the taxpayer). Day in, Day out.

As a taxpayer - a one off wedding for a quid or two isn't really top of my priorities of watching my taxes being mis-spent.

£48 million equates to about 80p for each person.
Hardly bank breaking as a once off payment in my lifetime
