Another example of those bastards in Westminster who both are afraid and loathe us is an attempt to make being homeless illegal.

On 24th February 2011, Westminster Council started a 'public consultation' on a byelaw that will make it an offence to both sleep rough and to distribute free food to homeless people in a large area of central London around Victoria. The consultation closes on 25th March.

Another note:- Dutch property anti-kraak fiends such as Camelot (some based in Islington over here ) boast about lobbying governments and effecing legal changes in Holland, France and Belgium are ending squatting. ( I have known people evicted so that adventuring international middleclass neo-yuppies could live in these places with no rights ( check out the-kraak contracts ) which is basically fucking us ALL over and contributing to the synthetic property market )

I can and will never understand why people think they have the right to live in somebody's house without permission.

It is ludicous. Ok, Guy Richie is Rich, but what has that got to do with anything.
With that argument you could say that a refugee with no money have the right to squat in 99.9% of people's homes because they are richer. Total bollox.

Squatting should be made illegal because it is wrong.

However, it should also be illegal for people and organisations to leave a property unused for any length of period - that is the true problem. If that was fixed, then people wouldn't be able to squat because there would be no empty buildings.

Make it illegal to leave properties unused, and squatter would have to go away naturally.

Now, what about these so called squatters in guy richie's house?
They don't look poor, they look like they just want to smoke pot, play a weird instrument and talk crap all night. Seen it all before. They should be arrested and fined, and made to pay for an administration charge for their arrest and processing.

Prosecutions for skipping food and now the criminalisation of squatting. It can't be a coincidence that this comes on the back of a series of high profile occupations.
The cuts are gonna be hard enough without DIY avenues being shut off to people. This really goes beyond the pale.

Westminster Council have reacted with undisguised glee to the Housing Benefit changes which will see thousands of benefit claimants forced to leave the borough or face homelessness. On top of this they plan to make it a criminal offence to sleep on the street or hand out free food to the homeless in some parts of the borough.

As part of the third National Day of Protest Against Benefit Cuts we will be gathering outside Westminster City Hall on the 14th April at 5pm for a protest and mass free food give away.

Bring musical instruments, noise, banners, placards, leaflets and lots of food and say no to the economic cleansing of Central London.
