A detailed overview of Mark Kennedy's actions between 2002-2010, in different countries. It will no doubt generate more information, so please comment or email the address included.

The original purpose of this chronology was to collate info from various places, and to try to help comrades in other countries access it. It is not for the mainstream press. Obviously information posted here is read by many different groups, including the state, but it is important to share this information among our networks as much as possible, to ensure that information doesn't come out in the press before people involved know.

This project is a collaboration with people in various countries and campaigns. There is a large amount of information so apologies if there are factual errors. All sources of information have been verified as extensively as possible. For obvious reasons attempts have been made avoid using the press as source material. Information here contains overlap with some of what has been reported in the press, but has also all been independently confirmed. This is not a place for media reports, and any references to events cited on Indymedia have also been clarified by individuals connected to them.

The lack of information here about the exposure, events following on from the exposure, and any reference to sexual relationships is deliberate; not because this is unimportant, but so as to create a record that looks at political work only. Obviously there is overlap but that is not the concern here.

The level of detail here investigating times in Denmark is important, but also it is important to remember that Mark was much more involved in Berlin than any other city outside the UK. In order to respect peoples' confidentiality, detailed reports of this does not feature here.

It is also important to note that one of the worst pieces of reporting in connection to his political activities has been to do with the coverage of the Saving Iceland campaign. The role Mark Kennedy played in the campaign has been greatly exaggerated by the mainstream press, especially the Guardian. The database attempts to deal with some of these errors.

We are currently compiling similar lists about “Lynn Watson” and “Marco Jacobs”.

The information on the Antifa England mobilisation against the BNP's 'Red, White & Blue' festival is incorrect. Mark Kennedy was undoubtedly aware of the Antifa mobilisation, but he did not attend any of the planning meetings. While he may have been present on the day as a police 'spotter', he was certainly not present as an antifascist and claimed to be out of the country. You need to check your facts more carefully.

The people who have put together this database have asked others for any information they have on his whereabouts and actions. If you think something is incorrect, email the address, like it says in the article!

How are they supposed to "check facts" on things that happened a long time ago, especially if they weren't there - they're relying on others giving them information... so stop having a go at them and email them instead.

It's good that people are compiling information, but anything they publish needs to be accurate. In this case the information relating to Antifa is blatantly inaccurate. Why is it the responsibility of named organisations to correct information that should have not been published without being checked in the first place?

Much appreciated Hydra. I'm afraid you've also been misinformed about Bradford, Kennedy was not there opposing the EDL. In fact he had very little involvement with Antifa. Those antifascists who encountered him (in UK) will now know he was a cop, for others it shouldn't be necessary to know. Good luck with your work.

Was everything passed on?

There is an assumption in the database that anything MK knew was automatically passed on to his handlers, or by them to the cops on the ground.

There are several instances where it doesn't look like this was the case. The most notable is probably the Heathrow Climate Camp site take. Though the camp was anticipated, the actual site seemed to be a surprise to the cops. Only a handful of cops turned up during the night and by the early hours of the morning there was still only one panda car and 4 cops. Even by midday, the campers were still outnumbering the cops present. It was not until the afternoon of the first day that the cops got their operation set up and their numbers on the ground. I got the impression in an early argument with a chief inspector that they expected the site to be somewhere nearer the actual airport perimeter.

There is no definite conclusion to be drawn from this. MK may have kept information he knew to himself for his own reasons or his immediate bosses may have been playing internal politics with other police organisations (happens all the time). The most optimistic conclusion is that MK's bosses knew the site in advance but didn't pass the info on as they had only one source. This is standard security practice so as not to compromise a single source.

BUT "Lynn Watson" was also present. Did she know the exact site location in advance, as MK certainly did? Probably not. When did she actually arrive on site? I've heard it said that she was present at the site take, but most who were at the take didn't know exactly where they were going in advance.

As I was not on site until first light, a few hours after the take (only one solitary cop to be seen), I'm not certain about the above. The "only one source of info" theory doesn't mean there weren't many infiltrators at Heathrow, but would suggest that MK was the only one with advance knowledge of the precise site.

Information about Bradford has been removed. Again, apologies. This information was passed on via a trusted source which unfortunately seems misinformed.

Thanks to all those who have suggested additions and amendments. We are editing. If you suggested anything connected to Antifa then it is going to be omitted. If anyone would like to talk about this further please do email  hydra@riseup.net and we can attempt to verify some stuff, it would be great to hear from you, not to be posted in the future, but to clarify a few details.

We tried very hard to make the database as factual as possible and without making any assumptions or implying them. Quite a lot of information which was passed on to us was rejected through this process. We never intended to suggest that Mark, or indeed any of the infiltrators, could have passed on all the information that they had access to. There are several events that indicate this to be the case, as Stroppyoldgit highlighted. Perhaps, in seeking to highlight times when it appeared Mark was directly communicating with the state, it could be implied that this was the case for all. This was definitely not the intention. It was our intention to counteract the misinformation reported by the mainstream press (and sadly, Indymedia at times). In doing this it may be that in emphasising corrections we generated further assumptions. Again apologies if this is the case.

The database raises a lot of questions in terms of the level of and time scale that information was known by authorities. But that is for other investigations as it cannot be verified at present.

Hopefully some of the questions raised by Stroppyoldgit can be answered as more detailed analysis about the movements of Lynn Watson around the period of 2007 are published.

Mark Kennedy may not have been at the RWB protests but he was certainly involved in the run up. The BNP are proudly touting photos of him at a protest at one of the licensing meetings in Ripley. (Their take on it is that the state is funding people to disrupt a legitimate political party lol) I think that was a protest organised by Notts Stop the BNP but there's no doubt that Kennedy was involved in militant antifascism.

Thanks to all those who have submitted extra information and clarified stuff. As ever, the database is ongoing work so keep sharing the information. Sorry again to those who feel annoyed. As you can see, there is a large amount of information, and also as we have learnt from recent events there are often different interpretations of events etc.

Apologies to Saving Iceland if the wording of one entry caused offence, you will see that it has been edited. The database was shown to people from the campaign prior to publishing but this was not picked up on by them. Thanks to Saving Iceland also for the more detailed statement about Kennedy's involvement in the campaign.

We will contact the Indymedia moderators to remove this round of comments so that any references to Antifa are no longer displayed. Once again, apologies for any concerns this has raised, as was said before, it has been a fine balancing act verifying information, and finding the line between details necessary to publish and those to just pass on to relevant individuals. Also, everyone has their own security processes and levels in terms of sharing information and this can create tension.

Part of the motivations for creating the database was to assist comrades outside England access information, and also to collate information for those investigating cross-border policing. Despite some people being concerned about a few controversial entries, the response has been that this is a necessary and useful information source.

If we get these comments removed it would still be good to have the forum for information exchange as new and old information is still emerging. Information presented in such a clear and easily accessible way , measuring and tracking the scope of Kennedy's infiltration will I'm sure take some of the state-induced paranoia out of the whole affair.

Well done for getting this together. I assume all the info is accurate. One thought tho, maybe stick to facts rather than mixing in speculation. Kennedy was an arch liar and his mental state or feelings about G20 policing for example aren't really knowo.

If you have suggested anything you can't see in the database that's because we are still investigating it or are not confident that it would be in the wishes of all involved to have it publicly posted.

Stroppyoldgit, I don;t know about Heathrow, but Lynn Watson was certainly part of the group that planned the site-take for the Drax climate camp, which went ahead with the same cop reaction as Heathrow; I think the most likely guess is that the cops knew where the camps were going to be and let them go ahead.
