Lib Dem MP's cant "reward bad behaviour"

John Hemming, MP for Yardley in Birmingham had his office occupied today by students who were attempting to remind of his pre election pledge to vote against proposed tuition fee rise.
Mr. Hemming was then asked whether he would in fact be honoring his election promise.
"At the moment I'm very likely to vote for the increase, simply because we cannot reward the bad behaviour from today," he added.
Is anyone sick of being condesended? I suppose good behaviour is characterised by taking part in the election and then letting the politicians just get on with it and not complaining when things go against you.
"The problem you've got is this: If you reward this form of behaviour, if it has any effect which is a positive effect, you're encouraging the behaviour in the future."
The question is Mr. Hemmings, when you are rewarded for your good behaviour (breaking your election promises in order to maintain an ilegitimate coalition government), doesnt that encourage this behaviour in the future?
Personally, I think those naughty protestors should be spanked and put to bed without supper.

Manifesto commitment

The Lib Dem manifesto says "We will" :
"Scrap unfair university tuition fees for all students taking their first degree,
including those studying part-time, saving them over £10,000 each. We have a
financially responsible plan to phase fees out over six years, so that the change
is affordable even in these difficult economic times, and without cutting
university income. We will immediately scrap fees for final year students."
So, it doesn't matter about so-called "bad behaviour". The LibDums promised to scrap tuition fees, so that's the way they should vote.

I would say pot, kettle & black, but the protestors haven't been badly behaved.

They've collaborated with the Tories, subverted democracy and sold all the principles they ever put to the electorate with an eye to extremely lucrative positions on corporate boards when they inevitably get voted out of the House.
Is that not bad behaviour on so many levels?
