Tate Gallery and its role in State Surveilance

anon | 18.10.2010 10:53 | Liverpool

On a recent visit to the Tate gallery Liverpool I was asked my name and address in order to receive my 'free' admission.

The 'Liverpool Bienial' is currently ongoing in Liverpool- at the Tate Liverpool among other places.

On visiting the Tate I was asked my name and address in order to recieve a 'free' entry ticket.

When I asked why my name and address were necessary i was told- 'just to record who is visiting', when I refused I was refused entry- to this 'free' state sponsored event/institution.

I complained and eventually was allowed entry after giving just my post code- this was dutifully entered into the database by the obedient bureaucrat!

We need to know who is thinking and doing what

The dirty politicians need to know who is thinking and doing what. The stalinists in Liverpool city council are not going to let go of their surveillance role or the surveillance apparatus they were supplied with by New Labour central without a fight.

I suggest every time you are met by this kind of local or central state nosiness you tell them to fuck off.

Say it loud and say it proud...

FUCK OFF!

the comment by louise seems very strange, what seems even more remarkable is the fact she is a member of labour friends of israel, im not very brainey when it comes to parliament stuff or indeed no what government is in power.

I wouldn't believe at least 70% of it.

As an ex council estate Scouser and government backbencher I'd just like to say you shouldn't believe a word that politicians say. I made up loads of crap to get me out of the shit. I told the nosy bastards it was 70% but they'll never know just how much I made up or not. Stay safe
