The Muslim Defence League have said that they are 'defending all races & religion.' They have said that they are 'sick of racism from the EDL.' Their defence of 'all races & religion' does not extend to Jews. A number of anti Jewish posts have appeared on the MDL page & are not being removed. The MDL cannot claim to 'defend all races & religions' while stating that Jews should die & bark like dogs'.




The anti Jewish extremists who are collaborating with the Muslim Defence League are not being questioned on their anti Semitism. They are writing with unquestioned and unashamed hatred and racism towards Jews. MDL members have said that 'Jews should die' and 'Jews bark like dogs' on the MDL facebook page. Anyone reading it might well wonder if they have wandered onto a Combat 18 facebook site in error. The Muslim Defence League was started up by a man named [removed] who seperated from the original Socialist Worker Party Muslim Defence League run by Richard Seymour to start the Muslim Defence League, a seperate London based group using the same name. While there are no anti Semitic posts found in the SWP run MDL group there have been anti Semitic statements posted on theLondon MDL site. Unwitting and well meaning supporters should ask themselves why they are supporting a group that asks for the defence of Muslims but writes death threats and racist comments against Jews.

certainley not nice to see angry insulting language, but also not surprising
some muslims are understandably feeling very hard done by and persecuted themselves, the majority do not react to this angrily but unsurprisingly some do.
let us not forget that neither the muslims or the jews are races, they are religions,

I can't believe a poster is defending these comments on the MDL site: it shows the moral contortions some of these obsessive 'anti-imperialists' are going through to make allowances for extremist muslims in the name of anati EDL or 'anti-zionism' It's also revealing they don't make the same allowances for say working class EDL members who feel abandoned and lost in the neo-liberal paradise that is the UK and wrongly lash out, so they shouldn't for these racists/anti-semites. I mean, one of the posters on the MDL site is called 'Checheyan Wolf' which afaik was the symbol for militant Islam resistance in that country, does he condone the massacre at the Beslan school I wonder? I'm sure many Muslims who abhor the EDL and what is happening in Palestine would comdem these comments, why doesn't the left?

Imo, too many of these people infest the left in the uk and even in Europe, making excuses for all sorts of brutalities, In Malmo, Sweden, Jewish people have been forced to flee because of the levels of anti-semitism, can that be excused?

I don't understand all this stuff about how "pure" people's genetic background is. Who gives a shit what anyone's genes are? That sounds like eugenics, racial purity and inbreeding to me.

Why are some people so obsessed about whether they can trace all their ancestors back to some Biblical figures?

The comments were there for 5 hours and 7 hours at least. The admins are interactive on the MDL facebook and either chose not to remove them or "didn't see them." The racist, anti Jewish comments were only removed as a result of the above article. The left and antiracists must be swift to condemn the MDL. The UAF should re think marching with the racist, anti Semitic MDL. If Combat 18 or the EDL had made those comments the left would react with justification against them and must do so against the MDL.

The MDL have tried to make out that they weren't on the facebook page when the racist comments were posted up. Right on top of Rage Mosely's comment "Jew bastards hope you all die" 7 hours ago is a post by Checheyan Wolf on Israel also 7 hours ago. The posts were up at the same time. How can the MDL claim they weren't on the page to see the anti Semitic comments if you've posted your own comment on Israel right after it?

im only talking about the most recent one here but if you look at when the MDL admin posted on the wall (the only way we can be sure they were moderating) there is no evidence they were online while the comment was up.

The MDL posted the orginal article (along with another article) 15 hours ago now

The last verified sighting of the post was 5 hours after the comment had been posted, 8 hours ago now.The MDL didn't post another article to their wall until 8 hours ago, as these are rough times it is possible they removed the comment when they came back online. Maybe they are ignoring racist comments, that's quite possible, but unless we have proof that they are we cant throw allegations like this around.

'7 hours ago' covers everything from 6 hours 31 minutes ago to 7 hours 29 minutes ago. It is possible though unlikely the antisemetic comment was posted almost a full hour after Chechan Wolfs comment. There is a 50% probability that the racist comment was posted some time after chechan wolfs comment.

Got a little question: when did Indymedia become the Facebook gossip pages?

There's been torrents of this shit, mostly around the MDL and EDL but I've noticed it increasingly in other articles. Time was, Indymedia UK served a purpose as a news service, one that was used by activists around the country and served a vital purpose in connecting struggles and distributing information. Now it's essentially a forum for people to bicker about shit they saw on a social networking site.

Not saying these posts aren't a problem but seriously, get a grip.

The EDL do indeed say the same thing, that they are not responsible for the odd racist nutter. The MDL are supporting anti Semitism and "ignoring" anti Jewish comments. If the EDL said, as the MDL have done, that they had chosen to ignore racist comments what would you say to that? As for the post after Rage Mosely's anti Jewish comments - Chechnyan Wolf's comment is quite clearly posted after the anti Semitic comment. The facebook group is an indication of the people behind the group , anti Semites or people "who may be choosing to ignore anti Semitism". The MDL are extremists and anti Jew. They are wolves in sheeps clothing.

Black September is a member of MDL. He and [removed] also of MDL were part of a group who said of Pakistani [removed] who is from the other MDL [SWP], "Take this Jew and beat him up." The MDL made a facebook event "Black September" and claimed that [removed] was secretly a Jew, that he is MI5 and was pretending to be from Pakistan even though he is fluent in the country's languages. The comments "Take this Jew and beat him up" were made by the members of the MDL including someone called [removed] and another called [removed]. When [removed], a Muslim activist asked MDL / Black September what was going the Black September people replied that they were doing it "because [removed] is really a Jew." Black September than sent [removed]'s photo to the EDL and sent them invites to the event. The event was eventually cancelled when another post appeared on the Black September events page showing a discussion between [removed] and [removed] of the other MDL which showed both men discussing their thoughts on [removed] [MDL] being Black September and speculating as to whether or not he could in fact be EDL.
