Highgate protest camp continues - Day 2

Geoffrey | 17.08.2010 21:33 | SHAC | Animal Liberation | Social Struggles

Geoffrey Douglas flaunts his blood money sport car paid with the animals' torture and deaths he sends to labs across the country

7am
Activists arrived back at Highgate Farm to make sure the commuting traffic along Highgate Lane knew exactly what Geoffrey Douglas gets up to and what we think of his vile business! We continued to protest and set up camp again.

10am - 12 noon
The police have been threatening to move us some 20 meters further away from the camp when we are protesting. We have debated this sorely and told them it would be ridiculous and petty and questioned them what powers they were going to use today? However, they have not yet been able to state what reason or any 'lawful' grounds as yet and have not so far managed to enforce anything.

3pm
Geoffrey Douglas comes back from a trip out in his Lamborghini sports car, paid with the blood money of the tortured animals he supplies to labs across the UK.

4pm
The police turned up mob handed and have arrested a protester that was using a megaphone, but we will continue despite these harassments from the 'tax-paid' public security aka Lincolnshire police, who must have solved all the crime in Lincolnshire to harass lawful, peaceful protesters. We are calling on more support and solidarity for the next couple of days, please try and make it to Highgate to show our disgust at this lab animal breeder.

We will continue to protest outside and if you would like to join the protest between 7am - 7pm each day, then please do get in touch with the camp on: 07973 722978. The weather is getting better the next few days, so we hope for the protest to grow with your support

Geoffrey

Police never round here...

18.08.2010 09:39

I live nearby (well within 15miles) and the police NEVER show up when I've had trouble with the local idiots throwing stones at passer-bys and cars. How come this farmer gets so much police help?

Who can i contact to raise a complaint about the disparity in help? Textphone number would be useful.

Thanks

IPPC, Independent Police Complaints Commission www.ipcc.gov.org . Complain about negligence etc.
2 other choices;
Deal with it yourself, throw stones back, or find out where they live and take appropriate action.
Tell the police that you enjoy maiming and killing animals and you think that those throwing stones are animal rights activists.
Either way you will have the fuzz crawling all over you in no time.

Repeat Victim

18.08.2010 15:52

Lincolnshire Police is committed to tackling repeat victimisation and its causes. The benefits of doing so are:
• The reduction of crime
• The reduction of fear of crime
• Addressing quality of life issues and making our communities a safer environment in which to live
• Responding appropriately to those victims who are most vulnerable
• Focusing on repeat offences concentrates our efforts on the areas of highest crime
• Prolific offenders are also targeted

I suppose that's what it's about.......

Lincs Police response to locals

18.08.2010 20:44

Lincolnshire Police is committed to tackling repeat victimisation and its causes. But this only counts for businesses and not actually individual people. This is because we function to maintain the interests of profit and not the safety of people. We are finally being honest so that you no longer feel the sting of disappointment when you phone us during an armed robbery on your local Post Office only to find we're too busy playing private security for a man who hates rabbits a bit too much. The benefits of doing so are:
• The reduction of crime (or whatever we decide to define as 'crime') which is causing profit loss to businesses
• Helping businesses to stop shitting themselves over being challenged in any way possible
• Making sure business owners can continue having the best and most luxurious quality of life, such as the provision of lambougini sports cars or other such basic essentials
• Responding appropriately to those victims who make the most money and are part of multi billion pound industries such as pharmaceuticals
• Focusing on repeat 'offences', such as campaigning (nothing much happens here in Lincs, perhaps the odd hay bale gets stolen now and then so we really need to make a big fuss outta nothin'...)

I think that just about covers it........

Update

19.08.2010 12:51

The police actually arrested two protesters that were using a megaphone and were later charged with "contravening a direction given by a police officer

5pm

All other unarrested members of the camp have been told they cannot go to Highgate Farm for the next 28 days! Otherwise they will be arrested, nice to know we live in a police state...

If anyone wishes to continue the protest camp or to go and demonstrate against the farm whenever they want, the address is: Highgate Farm, Highgate Lane, Normanby-by-Spital, Market Rasen, Lincolnshire, LN8 2HQ

Please try and make it to Highgate Farm to show our disgust at this lab animal breeder and to continue to protest at this disgusting place, especially if you live in the area. If anyone wants more information about the campaign to close this lab breeder down, please email:  closehighgaterabbitfarm@hotmail.co.uk or visit the following website: www.closehighgatefarm.com/

coppers not showing their numbers

Those pictures show that once again the Police are not displaying their numbers. Put a complaint straight into the IPCC.
