Croydon EDL Division beaten at Whitechapel Tube

Last night (Saturday 14th August) members of the Croydon Division of the EDL (English Defence League) got turned over while flyering at Whitechapel Tube Station by locals. Having had a busy day waving Israeli flags in Central London (Monmouth Street) in support of the cosmetics retailer Ahava, the Croydon Division of the EDL wrongly decided to stop off at Whitechapel Tube Station late Saturday evening when returning from a meeting in Essex.


After flyering for about 30 minutes the English Defence League – whose presence in the East End has been clearly made unwelcome before – were attacked by a group of youths. It is believed that one key South London member of the EDL was put in Royal Hospital due to head injuries, but nothing serious. When will they learn?

You faked a "press release" against the IFE that you claimed was written and signed by Muslims. You faked many many signatures on it including those of the Tarling Community Center in East London and Bangladeshi Youth Movement.

You claimed that an Asian Muslim youth gang who NAMED "chased" you and then "beat" you having "mistaken" you for EDL. You were not "mistaken for edl"...some of you support EDL and are Islamophobic all on your own. The EDL now use this "incident" to write about "violent Asian Muslim youth gangs" and use it as ammo.

You are opposed to the East London Mosque and London Muslim Center. You did NOT stand with them the way you claimed but were there to defend LARC from the EDL. You asked EDL not to go to East London because YOU wanted to oppose the Troxy event, the IFE, ELM and LMC and the EDL were "ruining things" for you "locals".....half of you don't even live around there in actual fact.

You claimed [falsely] that the Muslim Defence League "threatened" you ans sent you "anti white racist messages" which is pile of crap. They did not. You then BANNED the MDL from a London anti racist event and said that they were not welcome. It is THEY who are directyl affected by the EDL...not YOU.

One of you is so Islamophobic he is regularly asked if he is EDL.

WAG are anti religion...and are even more anti Islam which they claim is homophobic.

One of you contacted the EDL and said that you were doing your best to stop Islamism in East London. Not one of you is Muslim but see fit to do this "on behalf of Muslims".

If Indy delete this on account of your friendship with some of WAG / the Red & Black club etc that would be a shame as people need to know the truth about WAG and their Islamophobic members.

If i don't like Islam (although i suspose the word technically means a fear of Islam - however i just dont like it), then thats my business.

I don't like a lot of things. Islam is one of those things, yet people seem to jump on the bandwagon and say that I can't not like it. Unless we have suddenly started living in a though-police state, I can think and like and dislike what i want to without anyone telling me otherwise.

The Whitechapel Anarchists have been very vocal against the Whitechapel East London Mosque and London Muslim Center. [personal details removed] of WAG wrote on an
English Defence League facebook page openly that he and WAG have been campaigning against Islamism in the area. WAG campaigned against the IFE and an Islamic confefence in Tower Hamlets. They leafletted in Whitechapel against the conference. They co wrote a controversial letter against the IFE. The IFE [and others] have since counter claimed that most if not all of the signatures were falsified on the letter which was apparently intended as a press release. The letter has only ever appeared on the Whitechapel Anarchists website, a Workers Liberty website and on IM when it was posted on IM by a WAG activist.

There was an an incident in Tower Hamlets when Asian youths attacked the Whitechapel Anarchists in relation to some of WAG being connected to the EDL and following a meeting at the Praxis in East London where some of WAG made Islamophobic and pro EDL comments at the meeting which caused outcry at the meeting held by the UAF, East End United, East London Mosque and London Muslims Center and the Osmani Trust.

The vast majority of ordinary Afghani's are not on any state controlled register of any kind so there is no way for general attitudes to be confirmed or checked. Anybody who claims to know what the people of Afghanistan are thinking by citing opinion polls is talking utter bollocks. Seventy percent of what, where, when?
