2 anarchists convicted to 22 years for industrialist's kidnapping case (Greece)

pseudonym | 17.02.2010 20:43

The anarchists P. Georgiades and V. Hrysohoides were sentenced to 22 years and 3 months each, for charges related to G. Mylonas (President of ALUMIL corp and northern Greece's industrialists).

Giorgos Mylonas was kidnapped by a popular Greek bandit, Vassilis Paleokostas, for a large ransom, though the police arrested Paleokostas, and another 3 men last summer, among them, thw two anarchists. The comrades claim they gave shelter to Paleokostas and supported him as to a person hunted by the police (he was a prison escapee at the time) and a friend (he met with P. Georgiades on his previous sentence for gas-canister attacks against private security vehicles and became cell-mates, bonding in common prison struggles).

It is the first time anarchists are being accused of such a case in Greece, and an experiment of the police-judicial-media complex against revolutionary affinity among diverse social milieux.
