Re : Moda Show Fur Shop Nuisance
Dear Moda Show,
I am writing in order to make you aware of the situation facing residents and local businesses in the area.
Your shop Moda Show is selling fur and causing and has been causing a nuisance for over a year now and every week consistently causes nuisance to residents and businesses in the area. In recent months, the number of residents, businesses and protesters against your shop has increased, the noise from your music in the shop has got louder, the police presence due to trouble caused by you has got stronger and the previous good atmosphere of the area is diminishing.
I feel it would be worth it for you to stop selling fur. At present you are causing distress to local residents and affecting other local business trade.
If you are interested in coming to a mutual agreement with locals [stop selling fur] then please email me at bricklaneprotest@yahoo.co.uk
Thanks

It's quite common for campaigns to pick a representative target to focus on rather than spreading the campaign thinly over all possible targets.
But since you're offering, what are the details (address, phone number) of the fur outlets in Brick Lane and Spitalfields Market?
Telephone number for Moda Show seems to be 020 7739 5010 in case anyone wants to give them a polite ring to complain about them selling fur.

Moda Show and what seems like rather dodgy friends and stalkers in fur.

Several women who looked like, ahem, ladies of the night sidled up to protesters while wearing skimpy clothes, puss boots and furs posed for photos with protesters and then jeered after parading past the protesters several times. One walked around and around protesters while her mate mocked the protesters. There were few of these and while unfortunately it is common to see people in fur on Brick Lane this was obvious and deliberate provocation.
The funniest guy was the chump who tried to threaten us claiming "there's a few of us now" and "we wanna have a chat with you after the demo in my living room".
All very dodgy indeed.
Undeterred by these weirdos and the knobhead and their attempts to bully, harrass and provoke protesters on behalf of Moda Show, the anti fur group carried on and quite clearly are having an effect on fur shop Moda Show.
The wearing of fur and provoking anti fur campaigners is something that Harrods have also employed. Harrods also asked a plant to tell protesters "Our vet is refusing to give the Harrods petshop animals free vet checks while you protest so you must leave, " which is one of the more bizarre ploys used by animal abusers.
Moda Show have boasted that they can get "any fur, from any animal" which is worrying and possibly something for the Wildlife Crimes Unit to look into.

They actually have "real fur" signs up next to the stalls.
Good luck.

the reason...

We also hand out general anti-fur leaflets and will ask people to "Boycott any shops like Moda Show that continue to sell real fur". They were a good target because, when the campaign started in October 2008, their entire display in their window was fur, fur, fur. A really good place to demonstrate.
I wasn't there on the day this letter was written. I'd like to know more about it.

This tactic has worked well for years and the fur industry is not so widespread in this country as it is in lots of countries in europe because of this tactic and also the successful banning of the production of fur in the UK because of the cruelty involved.

I have asked you previously to remove the article and would like this addressed at your earliest convenience.
I am Ollie Emery, the suggested author of this letter and previous resident of 220A Brick Lane. I DID NOT write this letter and actually was PRO the shop selling fur and wrote to the council and police to press charges against the protesters themselves. This fake letter is clearly a response to that and I would like it removed.
If you do not remove it then I will seek further advice on the matter.
Kind Regards,
Ollie Emery
