Dear friends,
.
NAMES OF THE FALLEN UK TROOPS
This coming Saturday we plan to read out the names of the 249 UK troops already killed in Afghanistan since operations began in 2001. Also we will remind people of the 32,000 Afghan people killed during this war.
Our first peace vigil passed off peacefully and attracted some attention from the Luton shoppers and we were joined by people from Green Party, a Luton Councillor
and anti-war activists. We left quietly and picked up any litter we made.
If you're into peace come an join us!
Yours for peace with justice

There is no active Stop The War in Luton, we hold vigils to start a dialogue with Luton shoppers who mistakenly believe that soldiers are heroes.
We have caused a stir here the - Police (they pressured me to stop) and the Luton Council don't want to see us on the streets of Luton, but we're there anyway.
You never know but starting something small may lead to bigger things as time goes on.
Better to show some kind of support for Peace and Oppose the war in Afghanistan than stay at home and do nothing.
You're right about the names - but we don't have the names of Afghan civilians killed, which is a pity and our main reason for doing vigils is because we oppose the killing of civilians.
If you want to join us yoiu are welcome the more the merrier!

We conduct a weekly anti-war vigil outside Gallipoli Barracks, Brisbane, Australia....from where Australian troops deploy to Afghanistan and Iraq.
