Good for them

I've just telephoned the store and congrtualted them for selling real fur. It's not illegal and some people like to buy and wear it.

You should learn to celebrate the diversity of opinions on fur as clothing, not petulantly demand conformity from everyone because you are convinced you are right. That way madness lies.

do you have

29.08.2009 17:47

any evidence they are selling real fur?

they said they arnt. They said their policy is that they wont. But you are saying they are. Its your word against theres. But since they can't PROVE they are not selling fur, then it probably is up to you to PROVE they are.

Anyway, it probably should make a difference either way as it is not illegal. But i guess from some shopper's would like to know (although it isnt a legal requirement)

Like not demanding conformity to be anti; racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, xenophobic and so on from everyone if you are convinced you are right? Are these exceptions from your thesis of madness, or are radicals and revolutionaries all mad?

looks good in those new fur adverts.

Wearing fur is perfectly OK by me and lots of people but I don't mind people peacefully protesting about what they disagree with.

Trouble is, many animal rights protestors are intolerant loonies who think everyone must be made to agree with them by any means possible.

I'll be checking

03.09.2009 15:06

What, do you want a picture or something??

I'll check the Newcastle store myself and see whether they are selling it again.

Back in 2001 they told activists they had a fur-free policy and stopped selling fur for a few months - they then decided the policy only covered what clothes they make themselves and not what other brands sold in their store.

In recent months, activists managed to get them to take out a full fur-free policy to cover their entire store, to stop them selling fur completely.

I'll check to see if they have started selling fur again.

And to those people who just come on indymedia to make stupid comments, surely you have something better to do??

Nothing better to do

04.09.2009 21:33

Newcastle activist,

haven't you anything better to do than check which stores are selling fur?

So you don't want to wear fur and think it's wrong to do so. Why do you think most people are interested in your opinion? Learn tolerance and respect instead of demanding that everyone does as you say.
