The BNP show their true colours. We film them canvassing black people and then admitting that blacks can't even join the party.

We noticed while producing our recent films highlighting MPs expenses claims that the BNP were trying to hijack the issue for their own gain. Clearly there is a lot of anger over all sorts of things – the bank bailout, expenses, Iraq etc. But voting in a bunch of fascists is definitely not the answer. Nevertheless, the BNP have been worryingly effective to this end, taking advantage of people’s disillusionment with the mainstream parties. The European elections take place this Thursday 4 June and it is possible that the BNP could return up to four seats.
The reason this is a possibility is because, under the watchful eye of their leader Nick Griffin, they have carefully rebranded themselves so it looks like their not racists, when really… they’re racists.
We contacted the BNP, pretending to be sympathetic media students that wanted to make a film showing the positive side of the party after the slating they have been getting in the press. They seemed a little suspicious, but we rocked up with the camera anyway and spent the day filming them canvassing various areas around Essex. The BNP don’t really seem to understand how camera equipment works and when they thought we weren’t filming, they showed their true colours.
Around 375 million people are entitled to vote in the European elections, but it is possible that fewer than 150 million will do so. If you do not vote on Thursday and the BNP get in, then it will be YOUR fault and now one elses. VOTE. Not for the BNP.

Fuck off. If the BNP get in, it will be mainly the fault of the people that voted for them!
(But also, arguably, certain sections of the mainstream media and political establishment who encourage racist attitudes).
But hey - it's always easier to blame the radicals than the people directly involved, isn't it?
.
Great video!

I don;t believe the above posters are real. I think they are BNP trolls. Otherwise they would be supporting this sensible enterprise, voters or not.

Voting Negatively

True.
>Yet, instead of capitalising on this to put forward arguments for direct (rather than representative) democracy, there are fairweather anarchists calling for people to vote in order to supposedly 'keep out' the fascist BNP. As if this was the first election where fascists had stood, and as if a vote for any of the other parties is really any better. These people have no business calling themselves Anarchists at all, they are a disgrace.
False.
Recommending voting negatively as a tactic isn't confined to stopping the BNP, nor is it 'instead of capitalising on this to put forward arguments for' participative democracy. It's a slur to say that. Even minor improvements in a repressive regime make important differences however they are brought about. It's a pragmatic tactic, 'sinking to their level' if you prefer.
The anti-BNP argument is that proportional elections like the European one carry important power and large salaries, and so any vote for any non-fascist candidate is a financial and political attack on them, however little faith you have in who you are voting for or how little faith in the process. Where are the Monster Raving Loonie party when we need them?
I think every anarchist should vote while the voting system is so skewered, more than that I think anarchists should run in every election, to allow protests votes. Choose a party name like 'None of the Above' or 'Spoiled Ballot', stand for election promising never to attend, never to meet, and give away all of your salary. If Antifa would run candidates on such a platform it would cut the percentage vote of all the other parties, and that would cost the BNP money.
