Naresh Kadyan, Representative of OIPA in India - Chairman PFA Haryana | 21.05.2009 19:47

Chairman of the People for Animals (PFA) Haryana received a complaint about killing of two state bird black Partridges in Jhajjar yesterday night, five people along with SANTRO car No. DL 4 C 3956 were detained by the Police post Kulana whole night but today morning after getting 20,000/- bribe all accused were released by the in charge......

Black Partridges is a state bird of Haryana, protected under the Wild Life Protection Act, 1972 as well but non-vegetarian people used to eat the flesh of these innocent sweet, beautiful creatures. Actually this bird is a farmer friendly and eat harmful insects to help them but few of amongst us killed these birds for food to eat them.
Mr. Madan Singh, a co-accused with Nawab Pataudi black buck hunting in Jhajjar reported to the Representative of the International Organization for Animal Protection - OIPA in India Naresh Kadyan, Chairman - PFA Haryana that five people were detained by the Kulana Police along with their vehicle, arms & ammunition, dead bodies of the killed birds but today morning all accused were released with out taking any legal action, it is intimated by the complainant - informer that Police bribed with 20,000/- by these tainted peoples to get them free, they were released as well. Naresh Kadyan discussed this issue with the vice chairman of the Wildlife Trust of India then Superintendent of Police, Jhajjar, afternoon he approached the DGP, Chief Wildlife Warden Haryana for strict legal actions against above said offenders along with tainted Police officials. It would be pertinent to mention here that Mr. Balwan who is involved in this crime was also co-accused in Nawab Pataudi poaching case & the owner of Santro car amongst 4 sikh peoples serving as a Dy SP level in Delhi. Later evening one accused were arrested by the Police.............but no action yet against tainted In charge of the Police post.

Duck Soup
Duck Soup

A high caste Indian who raped a British freelance journalist was let out on bail. She has had to spend her life savings to get him rearrested this week.

Maoist rebels killed sixteen police in Maharashtra today. No mention of that here.

A second star of the film Slumdog Millionaire has had her home destroyed and her family beaten.

And two patridges were killed by poachers.

My grandfather poached hundreds of patridges, I've just posted about Iraqi prisoners being slaughted by their US captors.

I still appreciate that articles like this appear here, they add poetry to this place. It is as valid as most articles here. Naresh took the time to post this halfway across the world. He refers to 'non-vegetarian's the same way one of my childhood friends said to me, "Look, I don't call you two 'proddies', that is offensive, I call you 'non-catholics'."

Naresh, if it is any consolation a senior British politician, Sir Peter Viggers, just sacrificed his career by claiming a house for his ducks on expenses. It is a very nice house, based on a 18th century Swedish building. It is 5 feet tall and costed the tax-payer £1,645. It floats on his pond so the ducks will be safe from most non-aquatic predators. Sir Peter also voted strongly for the slaughter of a million Iraqi civilians, but that isn't a resigning matter in the British parliament.
