EU exploitation law defeated after UK-wide strikes

[21/05/2009] As a result of several major protests around the UK at factories, power stations and oil refineries, victory has been declared for British and Polish workers. Until recently, Polish workers, under European law, had to accept the average pay and working conditions of Poland, as they were legally employed by Poland, even if they were living and working in the UK for British companies. The strike at Aberthaw Power Station has been called off at the last minute.

"Foreign workers
If you are a worker from outside the UK and you are legally working in the UK you are entitled to the NMW. It doesn’t matter how long or short a time you stay here or whether your employer is based in the UK or somewhere else."

I have never heard something like this (anyway it has not a sense at all):
"Polish workers, under European law, had to accept the average pay and working conditions of Poland, as they were legally employed by Poland, even if they were living and working in the UK for British companies."
so could you post a link to this European law?

shouldnt we be more concerned about getting polish people into work rather than the local people who are probably happier on benefits and who are probably racist anyway?????
