BNP Kept Out Of Luton

HOPE NOT HATE | 29.03.2009 08:29

Due to a good turn out against the BNP they were prevented from grouping in the Town Centre

Trade Unionists, HOPE NOT HATE, United Against Fascism and others turned yesterday in Luton town centre and prevented the BNP having a get together.
We understood that their original intention was to have a march in the middle of the town centre.

The Police were out in numbers and some of them were persuading the BNP supporters who arrived by train to get back on the train and get out of Luton.
The Police searched BNP supporters on the street and prevented them from getting at the anti-fascist demo.

Luton shoppers' faces beamed with delight when they saw our anti-fascist group
many anti-fascist leaflets were distributed and our petition was signed by shoppers.

The BNP are planning a fund raising event today at 5pm in Luton and we aim to find out where it is and stop it.

Here's a message from a UAF bod:
"Greetings friends and comrades, the fact that a couple of dozen members of the openly racist british national party saw fit to visit Luton today tells us that they are targetting our town. Well done to the 20 plus people who leafletted despite their intimidation. They intend to congregate at a pub in Luton tomorrow. If you wish to give 'em the red card from Luton meet up at the Asda car park on Wigmore Lane at 4.30. Regards".

Anglia TV News reported our actions yesterday and televised an interview by a member of HOPE NOT HATE. At the end of their report they said a BNP spokesperson said they had never planed to have a march??!!

'Hope Not Hate' - Another pathetic Searchlight/SWP front

"The Police searched BNP supporters on the street and prevented them from getting at the anti-fascist demo"

Oh, good old police protecting us from the tough BNP! That line says it all. Why should antifascists hide behind the cops? You lot are a disgrace to antifascism, you haven't changed a bit since the days when you were waving lollipops.

Antifa and the antifascists of Leigh and Kendal are showing the way forward. The BNP must be smashed off our streets.

You can try your fascist bullyboy tactics against the BNP...

29.03.2009 11:40

... but you can't stop the British people voting for them on 4th June. The BNP is a legally constituted political party and therefore - in a democracy - has every right to organise meetings without disruption.

Roll on June 4th

ROLL ON 4TH JUNE AND ROLL OFF ON 5TH JUNE

29.03.2009 12:53

Yes, Roll On and the first thing to disappear under a BNP/ Fascist government will be our democratic rights of all kinds, especially voting.

As an RAF Veteran of Word War 2 said to us yesterday in Luton -
"you keep them (BNP) out, otherwise once they're in you can't get them out again!".

Antifascism and nonviolence

Spike is misguided and his tactics would be disastrous. The whole point about Hope Not Hate is that it is nonviolent and all-inclusive. The aim is to promote racial harmony and respect for difference and diversity. To 'smash the BNP' off the streets would be to adopt bully-boy tactics worthy of the BNP themselves. Who wants to sink to their level?

Democracy can say no

By all accounts, the Fascist Bully Boys keeping the BNP out were the Police. Perhaps its a case - which so often happens with antidemocratic thugs - that the BNP and Police fell out.

After all, why would the boys in blue want competition.

A community whose democratic will was against the vile presence of Fascists is the culmination of democratic process. It is democratic to demonstrate against Fascists and let them know their hate filled, power worshipping, anti-democratic ideology is not wanted.

Yet again Fascists play the victim card in their endless Love Fascism Hate Freedom campaign. It would be laugable if these people were not such violent, antisocial scum.

Hi
BNP never organised anything in Luton for the 28th, You can lie all you want and lose the fight for our country due to your pathetic misguided views, all we British want is our Country, just like Australia does.

Balance is what we need not rhetoric. Try understanding the words you use before making such grand assumptions. Hate not hope because hate is necessary to protect your self and survive. Hope is an attempt to justify suffering and we all know that through suffering we are saved by Jesus. What you really are saying in this context is almost nothing:- 'Hope(hope what?) not Hate(hate what?) I suggest you all go to confession and tell the priest you've been having hateful thoughts, they have all the hope you can swallow.

Having read your rubbish about the so-called BNP 'event' in Luton yesterda(March 28th) I was amazed.

No BNP (a legal political party) members were asked to attend the illegal congregation on Saturday 28th March. Rather, we were advised to effectively stay away.

BNP members were asked to avoid the silly event and the rubbish you published about 'Police advice' was an illegal statement. You are invited to prove your statements.

You are offered the chance to revoke your illegal statements and publish an immediate apology on your homepage, within 72 hours.

It's been a while since I've read rubbish like that but we are repeatedly obtaining court orders against slanderers and libelers and so you are currently just one of many.

'Smallfry' is a term I'd use to describe groups far more perspecacious than yours.

You will be taken to court though, should you decide to not publish an apolgy and revocation of your deceptive statements. 72 hours. Your choice. This has become routine for us.

We will, naturally, be persuing legal costs, of course.

Antifascists are not "bully boys"

What absolute rubbish. Were the antifascists who went to Spain to confront Franco, or AFA in the 70's, 'bully-boys'?! You are not non-violent, you simply use the police to deal with the BNP. You are not actually interested in confronting the BNP, merely in recruiting and selling papers. There have always been these sort of Trot-led liberal fronts, trying to distract people from what really needs to be done. All they will do is waste time with stupid tactics while the BNP thrive.

What a load of bollocks you espouse. You like many others always over hype the 'threat' of the BNP to justify violence and the obvious perverted satisfaction you gain from it. Wake up mate, its 2009 and not 1947

Threats of non-specific legal action and arbitrary deadlines - always the sign of a great legal mind.
