Friend | 17.03.2009 13:27 | Palestine | Oxford | South Coast
Vigil to be held on Wednesday the 18th of March from 3 -7pm at the London Israeli Embassy, 2 Palace Green, London
Tristan Anderson, 38, is a US activist who dedicated his life to social change and has been active in many mobilisations particularly in San Francisco, Europe and recently in Iraq and Palestine. He was involved in indymedia and frequently wrote for Indybay (www.indybay.org). Tristan was critically injured last Friday by Israeli troops following a protest against the Israeli wall in the West Bank village of Ni'lin. He was hit in the head by a new type of high velocity, extended range teargas projectile. He received severe head injuries, which resulted in part of his frontal lobe being removed. He is currently in a stable condition and has regained a minor level of consciousness but it is still too early to know what the extent of his recovery will be.
Tristan touched the hearts of those he met and inspired many with his dedication, courage and adventurous spirit. We hope you can join us to show our solidarity with Tristan and for the people of Palestine.
