Did ALF-infiltrant work for the farmaceutical industry?

This week the (so called) ALF infiltrator Adrian Radford appeared on Dutch national television where he explained to the broadcaster NOS ( http://www.nos.nl/nosjournaal/artikelen/2009/3/14/140309_nederland_dierenactivisme.html) that the ALF now is based in the Netherlands and operates international actions from there. But, is this true? Can we believe this man? NO!

But, who is this Adrian Radford? Today Dutch media are reporting that he did not infiltrate the ALF for the police. This is confirmed by the Dutch Department of Justice. Also the man declared that some years ago some houses of Dutch animalrights activists were raided and that two activists were arrested. The Justice Department in the Netherlands however has declared that NO arrests were made.

So, whats the real, true story of this so called police infiltrator Adrian Redford? Here, in the Netherlands, we now know that he possibly worked for and got paid by the farmaceutical industry while infiltrating the ALF. Just wondering now if his real background has been checked by the British media and others....

His story on the NOS television yesterday has criminalized the whole Dutch animalrights movement. Thats a shame. Even Dutch MP's responded and are asking now for more actions against extreme animalrights activists, based on a story told by Radford.

Ian/Adrian whatever he calls himself also uses the name Paul apparently (more than likely the same person who got his knickers in a twist previously). A certain grotty little anti SHAC website (who I will not do the honour of mentioning) has gone into a misogynistic rant about female SHAC activists and how this bloke apparently was some sort of stud!!!(in yer dreams and our nightmares matey!). Anyway it gave us all a laugh.
Adrian/ Ian/Paul we know you like to read Indymedia but this Walter Mitty fantasy thing it is a bit sad. Hope you enjoy your 15 minutes of fame. Can't wait for the book.

James Shortt was exposed as a fraud after taking government money, by soldiers. They still say he is dangerous. Danny Kayes portrayal of Walter Mitty is sympatico, I've not read the book yet, but I feel it is unfair to Walter Mitty to label these people 'walts'. Unfair to the mostly harmless Mitty. They might be motivated by profit or mental delusions but they do destroy lives, they are dangerous, they should be apparent in every movement. They see themselves as James Bond when they are really just 'Lonely' from 'Callan'.
'Adrian' already mentioned blaming someone unpopular whenever an action was grassed up.

Lynns first reaction to this infiltrator was sadness, that she compared to her sadness upon hearing he had cancer. I find that commendable but baffling. I must confess I read obituaries now solely in the hope that one of the infitrators I've met is the subject. Adrian isn't someone whose words should be ignored just because they are false. Claiming the ALF have are hierarchical - was that lie paid for by the tax-payer or the pharma industry?

Although I do feel perpetually pissed off with the police and those who torture animals I really do not feel like anyone deserves cancer, as a nurse and midwife, patient and activist I have seen death and dying and it is not pleasant although it comes to us all. For someone of Adrian's relative youth it is tragic and I would think has a poor prognosis. Is this his legacy? Sadly I suspect that in this ever more polluted world the cancer rates will continue to rise. Bowel cancer is of course linked with a meat based diet and genetic disposition.
One thing the plonker says though is that vegan food is more expensive which is disgusting as even us vegans end up subsidising the meat and dairy industry through wages and VAT. So not only do we have to pay for cruelty and a luxury product which others consume against our will, we then get blamed for being extravagant when we buy tofu and soya milk which we manage to pay for all by ourselves. Of course we are talking pennies if going down the route of a few veg and lentils and making our own soya milk. I would like to see him do a round with VIVA, he'd get slaughtered (scuse pun).

O dear Lynn, not quite being truthfull there are we when it comes to Adrian are we ?

Yes it's true you were never one of his conquests ( cough!) but others like Natasha most certainly were. His use of the gay persona to score with women was well known by some within SHAC and let's be blunt considering how many women he slept with very succesful !

Now that all this is in the open will you be apologising any time soon to those SHAC members who were assured by you here on Indymedia only a couple of months that there was no infiltration of SHAC ?

The same people you told had not had their details revealed to the police ?

Now that both of those statements from you have turned out to be lies (because as you have told us so often you are at the heart of SHAC so you know everything) will you be issuing an apology ?

In truth Adrian's "conquests" of female members of shac were the stuff of legend. More than one male member even questioned his so called homosexuality such was the time he spent bedding women.

In fact the truth is simple, Adrian used the oldest trick in the book the so called gay man who wants to be friends with women, he then confides in them how he is unsure of his sexuality and waht do you know a gullible young girl thinks that she is the one who "turned him" to to straight.

Poor Natasha was in tears when she discovered she was in fact the fifth women that month to have "helped" Adrian. Lucy ran back to her mother when she was dumped and Heather was close to killing him after a blowjob in the car was soon the talk of the next demo.


Don't feel bad Lynn that he never hit on you, perhaps you just were not his type.

Looks like police officer STEVE DISCOMBE has had one donut too many! Too much sugar gone to the head Steve?

He quite clearly lives in a fantasy land sitting at his computer inputting fairytales into his SHACWATCH blog. The stories are entirely untrue to such an obvious extent that everyone is laughing at you!

So desperate is he to spread lies and slander about people that he even makes up new names to concoct little fake comments on his blog entries, which we now see posted above as a comment here from 'Synn Lawyer' and 'shac person'.

In 2004 hired GHC Radford to the activities of the Animal Liberation Front activity. That same year he offered his services to the British police. The infiltration of the ALF lasted from 2004 to 2007 and during that time he collected information which he passed to the police. In 2007, a coordinated police operation (Operation Achilles) places, including the Netherlands, where hundreds of house searches and arrests were made in different countries. That same year, the infiltration of Radford ended and he went back to work for various security firms.

Now the remark of the Dutch Public Prosecutor's Office. ANP reported since last Saturday on the following:

"The man who says infiltrators have been in the animal rights organization Animal Liberation Front, is known not commissioned by the British police work."

He did not leave the army he was kicked out because of a sexual assault he committed on a serving member. The other person did not want to press charges for personal reasons and so the army simply discharged him.

As for him working on intelligence work from 1987 - that's lies. In fact that's quite laughable.

Adrian told some people that he had HIV, but that this was a secret he didn't want common knowledge.

What he says in those interviews is a mixture of fact, fiction and pharma-propaganda. It's woven so that it's hard to differentiate the truth from the lies.

I think it's safe to say that this man is in the employ of the pharma-industry and is acting as their mouth piece. The campaign against vivisection is against global corporations and the impact on industry UK activists are having, and the growth of the movement in europe, will be a massive cause for concern for european directors. They realise that what has happened in the UK, is possible in Switzerland, Holland, France etc. What better person to talk about these so-called "extremists" than someone who claims to have infiltraited them? As things, quite literally, heat up for the animal abusers in Holland, both the pharma-industry and the British goverment will be desperate to help Dutch authorities combat it. No doubt this man will pop up in any country that witnesses dedicated, effective campaigning, to ask for new laws and legislation.

Also of interest, which nobody seems to have picked up on, is that this Adrian fellow, was working for a private company, on behalf of another private company, under the authoritites of the police, and committing criminal actions and claiming them in the name of animal rights. He admits to attacking the home of a BAA director amongst other things. Who's to say this isn't the first time the authorities have done this? Those HIV-ladden death threats that they never caught anyone for? Gladys Hammond?

In the interview, Adrian Radford claims that he never actually broke the law. He says he graffitied a car he owned himself and pretended it was the car of a Huntingdon Life Sciences target. And he says he went out driving with people looking for scumbags homes to trash but always talked people out of it by saying he could see cameras, etc.

Not going to give full details for obvious reasons but he was attached to 14 Int Coy in NI in the early 90's working against both Republicans and Loyalists. He probably wants to keep that a little quiet for obvious reasons, the full extent of his intel work is a lot lot less than what he claims on his DVD etc. He always had a higher impression of his tradecraft than was justified.

The allegation that Ian assaulted someone makes my blood boil. I can only guess the ex-squaddie writing this rubbish has an axe to grind. I was serving with him during his discharge. He decided he no longer wished to live a lie and confessed his sexuality to his chain of command. He was then discharged with the minimum of fuss but with an awful lot of unsubstantiated rumours. Whatever your beef with him do not label him a sexual predator.
