Afzal Khan, former Labour mayor of Manchester addressed the Gaza demo in Albert square, Manchester today.
Councillor Afzal Khan, former Labour mayor of Manchester and former copper with the GMP addressed the crowds that gathered at Albert square in Manchester after the march from All Saints Park.
Despite being a member and hence representative of the ruling Labour party which supports Israel, he was invited to speak and given a platform by the SWP who through the Stop the War Coalition have hijacked the demo previously organised by the 'Gaza Solidaity Committee'.
Despite Labour a few days ago opposing a UN Security Council resolution condemning the bombing of Gaza, the SWP opportunists have allowed Labour to appear progressive yet again. This should not be allowed to happen.
No platform for racists. No to Labour. Boycott Israel.
