Animal Rights Activists Remanded in Custody
ACAB | 16.10.2008 18:11 | SOCPA | Animal Liberation | Repression | Social Struggles
here is a short summary of the facts so far in regard to the 4 activists arrested the other day please do not speculate further in the public domain.
The Facts.
-4 Northern Activists where arrested in the early hours of the morning.
-The vehicle they where in contained animal rights leaflets and posters, no tool's, no animal carriers nothing illegal.
-They where pulled over and arrested half an hour after a alarm had been set of at a rabbit breeders and as the activists had wet trousers they where arrested and brought into custody.
-They have been remanded in custody and will be appearing in court next week.
What people need to stop say as there is no truth behind it:
-They where NOT an ALF cell
-They where NOT liberating animals
-They where NOT up to anything criminal
Remember the courts like to spin things and things said on Indymedia have been used in court before, don't give the CPS ammo to use in court against innocent people by making non factual reports and speculating.

How naive of the police to believe that that they just caught an ALF cell.

So far as I understand, they've been charged with criminal damage and attempted burglary so simply stating ‘they where NOT liberating animals; they where NOT up to anything criminal’ is surely a matter of protesting too much.
Rather than getting angry with me (“we all know who you are. you dont fool anyone” – of course you do) it should be one of those arrested (Dean Cane) who you should be getting annoyed about. Dean is an experienced AR activist who's been arrested several times; he should have realised that putting new young volunteers in a situation that would inevitably lead to incararation if arrested was a stupid mistake.

Don't get too excited.
And just for the benefit of the vivisector who's too scared to put his (or her) name. You might get mashed up if you went to prison, as i bet you're a bit of a wimp if you can only take your frustrations out on animals. But animal rights activists are hugely popular in prison, i know prisoners who have been cheered and given pats on the back after the prisoners had seen his case on the news. Others have prisoners continuously asking if they can share a cell with them 'cos they're much nicer than the other prisoners.
Sorry to burst your bubble but all the activists in prison at the moment spend the majority of their time in the gym, outside in the aviary, watching tv or reading books.
If prison was so bad do you think people would actually ask to be remanded to get it done and out of the way - oooh scary =P

It's common knowledge that the security services manipulate indymedia and I don't think it's unreasonable to suggest that some of the posts in these threads have been made by the filth.
I can't really think of any geniune reason why these topics need to be discussed on indymedia, all you are doing is putting infomation into the public domain so that anyone - filth and journalists etc. can use it.
Being arrested, having your house raided and being remanded is bad enough, without having to deal with people gossiping online.
It's none of your business.
FREEDOM FOR THE PRISONERS. FREEDOM FOR ALL ANIMAL RIGHTS PRISONERS.
Dave
You’re right…
