Fall out from network meeting continues

Aside from the appaling capitulation to antisemitism documented on a number of sites around the net but of course removed from public view here on the newswire the other issue that got some discussion at the network meeting (although it was a byline in the so called minutes was the problem with certain individuals removing posts altogether from the wire or worse editing them to change the meaning or the contact details of the individual.

Does the anonymouse IMC person who wrote the promoted comment realyy think this will be believed ? Maybe by some gullible fools I guess.

This practice first started nearly four years ago when one admin with strong views about the situation in Israel and the OT started to edit posts from a poster who represented hardline Zionist views. No foul thought some but others were smart enough to see the rocky road that was ahead if this was allowed to continue and so he was stopped however he continued to work as a UK admin and continues to this day to do mod work which worries some.
I am not sure if he is the same person currently removing many posts from the newswire and editing comments but it seems likely. Over the past three days 6 posts and 11 comments have been removed. (this is not hiding this is removing) however I have locked this post to the code so it will remain (although it will be hidden I expect by somebody).
The IndyMedia project is based on the idea that news not always popular deserves a platform, the correuption in the PLO for example was a fact, not one that seat easily with many in the movement but a fact all the same. Posts on this issue were removed. This is not acceptable and I for one will not allow it to continue. I am keeping a detailed log and sub-mirror of the site in the same way the old Indymedia Monitoring Team used to and will publish it on a blog when I have finished setting it up.
Please check back for details, I will also posts to other related sites with details .
Thanks

A long time Indy contributor and sometime admin was turned on by nearly the whole collective when he exposed this very issue a little while ago.
I don't think there is as much editing of posts as there once was but removal of posts and comments that the admins don't like is still commonplace.
A couple of the admins who have very unpleasant views about Jews are well known for removing posts which show Jews in a positive light but the collective either doesn't know (which seems unlikely) or simply turns a blind eye to it.
When the Indymedia monitering group in Bristol put up their site which showed all the edits their server was attacked with a deny of service spam attack and the individuals who were behind had the private details sent to ALF people claiming they were lab workers at HLS, be very careful if you choose to take on Indy admins. they will fight dirty to protect their power over the Indy site.

I wrote some of the reports and did admin on the website and we were getting attacks day and night from people associated with IMC UK, the entire Bristol uni network was down for two hours one Saturday as a direct result and this was the begining of the end for the whole idea.
I do remember one Friday when for the first time we realised that more posts had been removed from the newswire than had been allowed through and this was to happen on other occasions as well. By the time the team had broken up we had documented hundreds of examples of editing, removal, deletions and abuse of the Indy UK site, a full CD with copies of all we had found was sent by post to the UK collective it was never acknowledged and a post about it on the site was removed (O the irony! )
I do still post to the main world IM site but don't bother with the UK site any longer, when I was told today that the issue was being covered up again I wasn't in any way surprised. Indy UK editors will never give up their control and until a new site is formed Indy UK will continue to lose readers and credibility.
