Fall out from network meeting continues

Aside from the appaling capitulation to antisemitism documented on a number of sites around the net but of course removed from public view here on the newswire the other issue that got some discussion at the network meeting (although it was a byline in the so called minutes was the problem with certain individuals removing posts altogether from the wire or worse editing them to change the meaning or the contact details of the individual.

This practice first started nearly four years ago when one admin with strong views about the situation in Israel and the OT started to edit posts from a poster who represented hardline Zionist views. No foul thought some but others were smart enough to see the rocky road that was ahead if this was allowed to continue and so he was stopped however he continued to work as a UK admin and continues to this day to do mod work which worries some.
I am not sure if he is the same person currently removing many posts from the newswire and editing comments but it seems likely. Over the past three days 6 posts and 11 comments have been removed. (this is not hiding this is removing) however I have locked this post to the code so it will remain (although it will be hidden I expect by somebody).
The IndyMedia project is based on the idea that news not always popular deserves a platform, the correuption in the PLO for example was a fact, not one that seat easily with many in the movement but a fact all the same. Posts on this issue were removed. This is not acceptable and I for one will not allow it to continue. I am keeping a detailed log and sub-mirror of the site in the same way the old Indymedia Monitoring Team used to and will publish it on a blog when I have finished setting it up.
