Careers Development Group

Careers Development Group is one of the training groups Brown want to send the unemployed under New Deal for the unemployed. Is he taking the piss?
We heard yesterday from Gordon Brown and the skills minister, that they are not going to tolerate shirkers and skivers on unemployment benefit, or Jobseekers as they are now known.

Instead, after 6 months, they will be put on New Deal, their skills or lack thereof, will be assessed, and they will be then sent for compulsory training.
It would appear though that this traing is already compulsory, or did Brown and his minister lie or are the Job Centres lying when they say 'training' is mandatory, and if Jobseekers refuse to attend, they will be sanctioned, ie all benefits stopped for up to six months.
One such training organisation is Careers Development group, or as they are also known CDG or CDG UK.

On their web site CDG claim 'The End of the Road for Unemployment'. It should read 'The End of the Road for Unemployed'!!!!
Before Brown pours more money down the drain, he ought to check out these cowboy outfits. Every independent report on New Deal has shown it does not work.
Was it a case of being surrounded by sleaze, banking crisis, lost data, that Brown was trying to bury bad news? Kick the unemployed to try and milk a few points out of the opinion poll ratings?
As the blog shows,

Remember Blair with his "1 million people on the dole and 1 million vacant positions" bullshit, John Major with his performance related pay for Job Centre workers?
They know it's bullshit and we know it's bullshit. And we both now that shirkers are in the vast minority and that the whole thing is a jobs for the boys scam. But is appeals to right-wing zombies and their votes.
The more things change, the more they stay the same.
What is a "shirker" anyway? Someone who doesn't want their brain rotted inside out working a NMW job? Someone with no marketable skills? Someone who can't afford to come off benefits?
The Gvt/CBI doesn't want full employment. That would create a level playing field and re-empower the workers who would start demanding better pay & conditions like they did back in the '60s.
As for shit waste of tax payers' money. I was on a course where all we had to do was sit listening to some cunt whine for two weeks about how his life fell apart and he bounced back from total disaster. I inquired on the first day what exactly this "bounce back" was. He informed us that doing this course telling people how his life fell apart and he bounced back was his "bounce back".
The recursion and irony was wasted on him. He was basically telling us he was better than us because we were stealing from the tax payer, whilst all he was doing was stealing from the tax payer himself. What a lesson in denial and delusion!
I want to see a government study into how many people are JSA that should be on Incapacity or Disability or Carer's/Attendance? Watch me hold my breath!
