C4 Jon Snow calls for revenge attacks on Russia - what's his agenda?

notobullshitnews | 26.05.2007 13:58 | World

This week, Channel 4 news presenter Jon Snow took a personal interest in asking if the UK would launch a revenge attack for the death of former Russian spy Alexander Litvinenko. Snow has developed a new found concern for the people of Chechnya following the death of Litvinenko. So much so, he now thinks the President of Russia Vladimir Putin is a bad man because he has access to gas and other reserves and is not playing ball with corrupt western power brokers. So what is Snow's agenda?

Snow's concern did not extend to commenting on former leader Boris Yeltsin who sold most of Russian's rich resources and left most people in the abject poverty and bombed the Russian Parliament. Most spies like Kissinger deal with the death of others and there is no surprise if they are killed as part of their murky world but for Snow it was very personal and he showed Bush like tendencies. Snow also thought LiveAid was good and no doubt thinks nuclear power is the future. If the new plan is to attack Russia or call it an enemy, are we going to see more wars courtesy of partisan journalists like Snow, if so what is their agenda?

Snow's Agenda

With a position like his he's bound to have been nobbled by the spooks a long time ago. The fact that his comments veer ever more to the neocon right should be taken as a sign that he, together with reporters like Tisdall of the Guardian are being instructed to do this.

Taken together with Reid's threat to declare an Emergency, Musharraf-style, and turn Britain into a blatant dictatorship are other alarming signs how close we are to the terrorist state, not just for Muslims but for everyone.

It's so easy to call someone a collaborator - nobbled by the spooks. At least show the minimum of journalistic skills and research him if you are going to make ridicoulous claims. There is no doubt a problem with corporate owned news, as there is a problem with independent news, indeed Snow's recent interview if you can call it that with Alistair Cambell was a case of hime letting himself get bullied.

But he has reported with great bravery in Iraq and Iran during their conflict for one thing - he refused an OBE for another before doing an investigation into the honours system.

Is he a sppok or isn't he? I personally doubt it and I suggest you reseach a little bit before posting your next frivolous comment to help raise Indymedia's standards of journalism
