Arctic Ice Melting 3x Faster Than Predictions
Don Beck | 07.05.2007 21:25 | Ecology
A study published in the current issue of
Geophysical Research Letters reveals that
"the actual rate at which summer sea ice
had shrunk per decade during the past 50
years was more than three times faster than
an average of 18 of the most highly regarded
climate simulations."(1)
This is another in a growing number of reports
that are showing that the globe is warming
at an accelerated pace, not in the gradual
steady incline that was expected by the
scientists.

What is worse is that most of the public actually feels no change, certainly not
as much as the doom and gloom reports are screaming about. The biggest
affect on most of us is a 50 % reduction in the Coral Reefs of the Cayman
Islands that we like to snorkel.
Most people don't understand that the climate has momentum, and because of
its gigantic mass (atmosphere and oceans) it will continue in the current direction
for many many decades even if we could stop emitting CO2 entirely right now.
The fact that most people feel no effects at this time makes it very easy for the
skeptics, who are being funded by the energy giants, to place doubt in everyone's
mind about the seriousness of global warming.
This is truly a disasterous situation for the future. The scientists are finding things
happening in the past 2 to 3 years that they didn't expect to happen for decades.
We should all be very concerned and demanding change to green energy, because
the climate will eventually reach a point when there will nothing we can do to stop
changes that will get very drastic........and it will be happening sooner than anyone
thought possible.

Take a step back and think about what this report is really saying. A group of people make a prediction about how fast the ice packs are melting, they then measure the actual rate of melt and find it faster than THEY predicted. Their conclusion - Catastrophy.
Not perhaps the conclusion that most people of a scientific mind what have drawn, what about the conclusion that their predictions were wrong and of course this does not address the issue of why the ice is melting, which is because there is a multi year Earth cycle of ice build up and melt which is well documented and proven.
The oil industry and the Western governments who work with them have perpetrated a myth of gigantic proportions with the eager help of misinformed campaigners who never took the time to study the scientific data behind the claims.

Expect Scientists, Economics, Politicians, and people who burn fossil fuels to be strung up.
Ozone absorbed lots of UV light, with weakened Ozone layer, the sunlight reaching Earth is hotter.
The total collapse of Civilization might not be enough to save Life on Earth now.
Note that the Rich are trying to build Hotels in Space. They know what they have done.

Regretfully many of these articles have been based on the flimsiest evidence and badly flawed computer predictions. I doubt any other scientific theory has been formulated from such poor data. I will continue to send information to Indy-Media as it is vital the world understands the size of the deception.

Robin Small a researcher at Shell Oil said the following,
"It is not all about putting up windmills," he said. "Addressing this problem involves a whole range of potentially lucrative manufacturing and energy-saving innovations."

I expect so-How would the brainwashed masses ever except the planned carbon taxes on our everyday lives if they knew we are not in control of our planets warming?
The global warming idea has become a tool to get us to pay more for EVERYTHING-(while the multinationals carry on pumping millions of tonnes of CO2 into the atmosphere using their carbon credit scheme.
The big companies denied the existence of global warming for decades-now they have found a way to make money out of it,so all of a sudden it exists and its our fault...Yeah,right.
Get ready to be taxed on the very air that you breathe.

this shows all the comments, even the hidden ones.
I don't blame Indymedia or anybody else with an interest in Green politics because they were conned by this. It's easy to have faith in something that you want to think is true. When this is combined with a very well funded series of campaigns by oil companies it must have been quite easy to con us all.
I am grateful to my physics teacher at school who three years ago corrected a number of my misconseptions and views and put me onto the real facts.

I am also becoming used to being called names as you have done. Abuse and name calling will not detract from the important facts of this issue.

See these links:
Our planet responds to the solar cycle. So do the other planets. We are being hoodwinked into another guilt complex over this. The governments of the world are rubbing their hands with glee in anticipation of the money they will try to screw out of us all while they carry on burning all the fossil fuels anyway.
Ever get the feeling you`ve been had?

There's got to be a few Dr Galbriths in the world.
In addition he made some good points in an earlier post which again you hid for no reason I could see. This is an important subject, we should see all the information that Indymedia contributors can offer.

The way to look at it may be to say many things can have an effect, and the CO2 is going to be the most influencial for a long, long time.

You have been badly misinformed. The Earth is going through part of its regular warming and cooling cycle as it has done for millions of years. I am sure you are a decent person but you are doing the job of the oil industry for them.
