A Change is Gonna Come

Bob | 03.04.2007 11:05 | Social Struggles | Liverpool

Here follows a summary of the way out.

Movement for Democratic Change in the UK

Democracy comes from within, from the desire for freedom from the hegemony of powerful vested interests. But we only travelled so far in this direction before new interests hijacked the plane. We were busy congratulating ourselves for achieving Freedom From and then went back to sleep. We did not seek Freedom To Be.

The sham of Representative democracy finally died when all the parties adopted the same clothes. Now the zombie stalks us, powered only by the spells of corporate elites.

A brutal Victorian ideology is dressed up by the false prophets of knowledge as our salvation. Listen to Work and Pensions Minister Jim Murphy- "Work is the ONLY route out of poverty" Yet he speaks without knowing what poverty is.

It is not his fault. If you were given a five year mandate to do whatever you wanted would you not commit crime? Equality before the law was yesterdays news. Can you ASBO Blair for causing alarm or distress while pursuing his War on Scary Things? No, you cannot.

So where will we find democracy? We can start by looking within ourselves, our homes, our communities.

A change is gonna come. We, the people, will wake up in the style of Rip Van Winkle. We will connect, we will share, we will become with purpose. We will put the last first and the first last. We will put our common purpose before our individual obsessions. We will be united.

We will listen, we will educate ourselves and we will be inclusive. And when the time comes we will fight for the right to become human once more. Our shattered spirits racked by consumptive guilt, intolerance and hate will be rejuvenated.

But an idea is nothing without action. Action really does speak louder than words.
Wherever you are, whatever you are doing- start to meet, pass on this idea.

Network. Learn-by-doing. Scale up. Serve the cause. Right now they have us exactly where they want us. Fragmented. Petrificated. Disjointed. Afraid

If you are the only one in the beginning it doesn't matter. They will come if you are there. We are the Movement for Democratic Change in the UK.

It begins here

Bob

A future without fear of oppression or intimidation should you step onto the wrong square is so close.

It would be very easy to build a nation of compassion, as long as every individual is given their own space with which they can live self sustainably then there will be minimal conflict.

Groups that live communally are the most high ranking of the human species. They are the cultures that are most likely to survive a catastrophe.

Although politics may always exist, it must exist under the label 'Proportional Representation', as in Germany, and have no authority regarding war. Only the UN may decide that decisive action must be taken against any nation, and their weapons will certainly not feature warplanes or artillery. Insurrection and mass exodus from a region of instability (e.g. a BNP county) will be used as tools to weaken the aggressors, and paralytic arsenals will be used when soldiers move in to arrest. Any existing politics will be used to handle trade that is passing through the science cities of the future, such as London, Nottingham and Oxford. Every city may have their own political table, carefully balanced via the strength and expertise of local councils.

Full accountability of all officials please. When this is all over we should have the right to stroll through MI6 HQ.

Download a face sized V mask :I will see you next November at Parliament Square!

V: Good evening, London. Allow me first to apologize for this interruption. I do, like many of you, appreciate the comforts of every day routine- the security of the familiar, the tranquility of repetition. I enjoy them as much as any bloke. But in the spirit of commemoration, thereby those important events of the past usually associated with someone's death or the end of some awful bloody struggle, a celebration of a nice holiday, I thought we could mark this November the 5th, a day that is sadly no longer remembered, by taking some time out of our daily lives to sit down and have a little chat. There are of course those who do not want us to speak. I suspect even now, orders are being shouted into telephones, and men with guns will soon be on their way. Why? Because while the truncheon may be used in lieu of conversation, words will always retain their power. Words offer the means to meaning, and for those who will listen, the enunciation of truth. And the truth is, there is something terribly wrong with this country, isn't there? Cruelty and injustice, intolerance and oppression. And where once you had the freedom to object, to think and speak as you saw fit, you now have censors and systems of surveillance coercing your conformity and soliciting your submission. How did this happen? Who's to blame? Well certainly there are those more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror. I know why you did it. I know you were afraid. Who wouldn't be? War, terror, disease. There were a myriad of problems which conspired to corrupt your reason and rob you of your common sense. Fear got the best of you, and in your panic you turned to the now high chancellor, Adam Sutler. He promised you order, he promised you peace, and all he demanded in return was your silent, obedient consent. Last night I sought to end that silence. Last night I destroyed the Old Bailey, to remind this country of what it has forgotten. More than four hundred years ago a great citizen wished to embed the fifth of November forever in our memory. His hope was to remind the world that fairness, justice, and freedom are more than words, they are perspectives. So if you've seen nothing, if the crimes of this government remain unknown to you then I would suggest you allow the fifth of November to pass unmarked. But if you see what I see, if you feel as I feel, and if you would seek as I seek, then I ask you to stand beside me one year from tonight, outside the gates of Parliament, and together we shall give them a fifth of November that shall never, ever be forgot.

Guy Fawkes: portrait of a freedom fighter or terrorist? You decide which.

Remember the 5th of November, of gunpowder treason and plot./
I see no reason why the gunpowder treason should ever be forgot.

Guy Fawkes possible dissident-decendent.

are people better?

03.04.2007 18:54

blair and company are people, aren't they?
why people that don't rule should be better than people that rule? why a new movement should work if people are bad?
it seems to me pure illusion to think that the world is divided in "bad" oppressors and "good" oppressed.
the fact is that oppressors and oppressed carrie the same moral ethical connotations, the former able to express them, the latter having to suffer the consequencies.
point is: is humanity - all in all - just rubbish? can improve? has ever been better? has ever improved?
if your answer is 1 yes and 3 nos for you it's over.

Funny U should suggest 5th November...

03.04.2007 19:50

...as it turned out that Fawkes and his boyos were just patsies for the Crown. Sounds familiar?

Where do you think false flag ops started to be effective? 7/7? Madrid bombings? 9/11? Northwoods? Pearl Harbour? Sarajevo?

Nah, you got to go back at least to the Borgias...

As for defying SOCPA, Brian's well ahead of you - join him please, before They nail him for good.

Wouldn't do any harm to get George Galloway involved too...

Participate, participate, participate

The structures of power will be confronted with the active, direct, energetic, living agency of people.

Democracy = power to the people
