remembers . . . . to have a future

latest news, nuclear review, comment, plus

The "remember the eleventh of EVERY month" campaign, amongst other "uniting across the spectrums" campaigns, has put various "traditional" themes into its output, that sometimes seem at first at odds with other "radical"-seeming proposals.
This quick round-up is in that "allsorts" slot:
Seeing that the "info-war-in-peace" is covered by the brief of this attempt to remember, then re-investigate, to comprehend IN A DIFFERENT WAY so that we can PRE-EMPT the recurrence of stupid tragedies - perhaps a few words on this weeks "info-war themes", too, then somethings to think about that can speed solutions - crunch points sometimes come along without the fanfares - when its about trying to find the moment to change course, or to help a lot of people see things from a different angle at a simultaneous moment -
- problems
-solutions
-transitions
-good alternate ways to exist.
( continuing " tactful discussions " theme )
latest news: the "traditional" side of seeing a way for societies to remember has discovered good new energy in recent times, yet some odd moments.
THE 7/7 "year after" moment was disfigured by a bit of hate-mongerer malarkey, trying to do that "enemy within" thing, but didnt, in fact, manage to play people off against each other, as recent casualties from the middle east, (+ everybody - all colours etc - keeping the "en-ger-land" patron saints flag high) - with continued pressure for a full investigation, further support for 7/7 casualties + kin, even serious doubts about the "theory" we are supposed to accept as to what, in fact, happened all co-existing - in fact - supporting each other.
(e.g. see " remember 7/7 ", these pages.)
In the USA the 9/11 memorial saga continues - after the "omissions of errorism" came out, unanswered questions dealt with by . . . . remaining unasked, then anybody asking them having "conspiracy theorist" shouted at them HASNT worked - good thing too - so scientists, ex-army, republicans, democrats etc are picking up good work of the people from the "outside" that dont mind the flak so much (- or have gotten accustomed to it some!) . The "democracy" museum bit of the ground zero site has gotten shelved due to cutbacks. . . . they think. Thats a campaign that aint over either.
WW1 Memorials - good news - the westminster abbey do is for the entire of society that suffered from that disaster - mothers, daughters, sons, grandkids . . . . a higher number of poppies got sold last year than ever, new war memorials are created, pasts are re-investigated.
(e.g. see " does it help to REMEMBER " - these pages,
+ " minderbinders octopus " historical relooks, ditto )

current info-war, + "dont lets do THIS. . . . "
NUKES.
This announcement in parliament a couple of hours ago - what the ****.
waste. 25000 years. some of the nuclear POWER stations have to have a continuous stream of bulldozers putting sand back to recreate a sea wall that anybody should have predicted was going to erode since CANUTE. In the USA "native americans" are getting hoodwinked into allowing nuclear dumps on reservations - over earthquake faults - in states that are trying to stay "nuclear free" by the same sort of people that flew congressmen to play golf in scotland to get them to support dodgy "gaming" con cessions - " - but, thats the market!??? ".
A former PM came up with the push for the " mulberry harbour" idea, why cant this PM see the point in hooking a new bunch of them up to dynamo s to use the tide FOR us.
( moon on a stick - that'll do nicely.) Yes, energy saving, solar, wind, cleverer coal etc - but we are surrounded by tides, - the reason why the pro-nuclear snakeoilsalesman cabal at the dti etc in the seventies got hold of the job of calculating the worth of wavepower MISLAID THE DECIMAL POINT BY THREE PLACES isnt THAT hard to fathom.
Same old same old, it seems. But we cant tolerate them getting away with it.

Trident follow on. Utter bollocks.
". . . . going down to the shops dear - taking the flamethrower, of course - since you never know what might happen."
EVEN the old, ( serious) pro-NW types had to admit that its single "rationale" was a place at the security council - but then what kind of scary-ass psycho futureworld does THAT presuppose. A property qualification to have a vote was a stupid idea, but to have to go into the conference chamber without a shred of common OR strategic sense, naked except for a suicidebomb-belt , THAT S what we call STUPID .
( THE "STRATEGY" changed for all thinking people that werent wittingly or unwittingly of the "minderbinder/bilko complex" ( paraphrasing Eisenhower ) when deterrence could get enacted in a way that meant you couldnt fire back at it - ie " poor mans bombs" etc - when anybody except cold-war-nostalgic-escalation- profiteer "lobby-ist" thinktankies had stopped talking about "staying in front" to think - WITH SOME IMMINENT EFFORT - of a way we could ALL stop playing with matches in these pools of gasoline . . . .

that someone who refuses to take their anti-psychotics writes this kind of stuff. But does anyone read it???

Pro-psychotics

12.07.2006 03:29

Presumably they developed pro-psychotics at the same time they invented anti-psychotics ?

Syd Barrett died yesterday, 60, hey ho.
The king of France is a man. I am a man. Therefore I am the King of France.

A lot of people in the UK do have mental problems, everyone at some point presumably, and a lot of them do seem to post here, many of them post relatively sensible posts. Joking about it isn't helpful to anyone, neither is encouraging their obsessions though. What is helpful is to give someone purpose and a chance at a sense of achievement on their own terms, in those terms IM must be viewed as healthy.

An example is a woman who posted here recently under her own name on Lyme Disease and has since been reported as 'sectioned' on various other sites. According to her online 'friends' to 'shut her up'. Well, it is a possibility, it happens I suppose, but it does seem more likely a damaged psyche has been utterly crushed by unhelpful encouragement on a rather obstruse subject and immprobable plot. There are various more severe casualities who are hard to avoid too, for all I know I'm one of them.

I have a schitzophrenic acquaintance who believes himself to be married to Kylie Mynogue. His own rules of logic have been amended to permit this fact, with or without medication, and if I question him too forceably on this point he makes plain his displeasure at me doubting his word. More irritable without the medication but no less deluded with it. He has got to the stage where questioning his delusions is seen as an aggressive act. I can see the logic. Good guys deserve girlfiriends with the perfect behind, he is a great guy so he deserves Kylie. To doubt this is to doubt he is a great guy. Of course perhaps he is married to Kylie, and I am the one in denial, I can't prove anything to someone whose fits the rules of logic to suit the supposed facts. It's not just acts we need, it's formula, we should be taught logic at playschool. Most of all we need understanding that while we are all equal, we are not all always equal all the time, we are equal on balance. I still challenge him, but I challenge him caringly. I save my contempt for the sane.

I used to get angry whenever I came across really dangerous drivers on the road, I'd spit and swear at them and take their threat to my life personally, usually end up imitating them. Then I realised they were probably really fucked up people trying their best to drive safetly, if they even realised that they were driving at all. I learned to avoid them on the road and intercept them on the way to their cars where I could. Ach, I'm rambling, someone drive me home please, and administer the psyclobin.

good piece - infowar doggerel comments a form of flattery

12.07.2006 18:01

- even if the 1st "comment" fits the 2nd "comment" further by far than the original piece

appreciations, "etc"

mmmm - very good, attracting odd "comments", again

12.07.2006 18:32

- but did the layout/punctuation get mangled as it got put into the newswire by imc? other than that - a very good, brief gist of the " follow-up-to-trident " arguments, amongst
the "big" infowar themes about it was playing the "left" as obsessed by the cost, but playing the chancellors pronouncements about it at mansion hse as " proof that he wasnt a prisoner of the left" - see F.Tms, Tms, + associated press.
church people coming out in a hefty way about it is good, but a bit of research about the npt, strats, etc is needed so they cant get "used" to say to others " yes, but that means if you are against it you are a goodygoodysoftintheheadpacifist" - or somesuch, but most people that are against it aint pacifist - but they can add two plus two to get four.

the threat of a bad example at this time - as other small countries try to work out if they "need" terror weapons - even affects world security in a VERY bad way AS WE TALK ABOUT TALKING ABOUT IT.

It helps a lot if further numbers of ALL sorts of people speak out - - - - getting accustomed to effectual, sharp ways of putting the argument(s) is easy -
BUT very worth doing.

intrigued

yes, thanks - is a recent brief summary re "follow-up-to-trident" infowar out?

12.07.2006 18:51

I also heard that a lot of good thinking has got put into the " alternate futures " for communities that might get affected if trident wasnt replaced - or is that getting blocked too. It seemed VERY encouraging, with a far higher degree of "wow" than the old "lucas" shop stewards plans in the 70s - when that was quite something too.
also "baffled" re comments !
- or perhaps we need to ask what "odd comment-makers " can do if peace breaks out.
( Oops! I think I'm serious! )
