Home Secretary Re-introduces Transportation of Convicts

In a surprise development the Home Secretary, Charles Clark announced his intention to re-introduce the transportation of convicts. Mr Clark said "They had the right idea in the 18th and 19th century when criminals were sent to the Australian wilderness."


Politicians of all hues expressed alarm at these developements. Tory shadow spokesman said - "we cannot turn the clock back like this. Britain needs to show the world the meaning of liberty and justice". Even the BNP were opposed "The Englishman's home is his castle. But bring back hanging for the scum of the earth".

Charles Clark issued a further statement to clarifying the proposal saying "this only applies to foreign criminals"

"Oh that's all right then" said all the politicians.
